Follow instructions
I bought this as a gift for my grandson. He didn't follow the instructions as to use the waz profided at first, we had to take it apart and do over. It does work as long as you follow the instructions. They are at the beginning in small print. It is hard at times to snap some of the small items together, careful as not to force to much and I know that is hard to do. Great spider looking.

Cool looking model
Great looking model even though it doesn't work.I can manually move the gears but it will not move when I wind up the rubber band engine. With any of these types of models you need to realize there is a good chance it won't work or work 100%. when completed. So recommend buying a model you'll enjoy looking at even if it doesn't move.I suspect the issue is at the back end, maybe due to the rollers.I've built several of these types of models and have about a 50% success rate for getting them to move, even with sanding and waxing. It only takes one gear to be slightly misaligned to have enough resistance to prevent the rubber band engine from unwinding. Also if you try to fix by taking apart there is also a good chance you will break pieces. Also if you don't have good hand strength these parts are not easy to put together. I always end up using pliers and a small hammer.

HUGE SPIDER WHEN DONE BUT IT IS POWERED BY RUBBER BANDS AND NOT A SPRING.
RUNS ON AROUND FORTY RUBBER BANDS. OK BUT NOT THE BEST MOVER SINCE IT DOESN'T HAVE A SPRING. MY HUBBY WAS MAKING IT FOR OUR GRANDSON AND HAD TO BACKTRACK TO ADJUST THE RUBBER BANDS IN ORDER TO MAKE IT RUN, BUT HE DID GET IT TO RUN OK. OUR CONCERN IS THAT THE RUBBER BANDS WILL DETERIORATE OVER TIME AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. IT DOES MAKE A HUGE SPIDER BUT IS NOT A SIMPLE BUILD...CERTAINLY NOT FOR ANYONE VERY YOUNG.

Cool Spider!
I enjoyed building this kit. It just requires patience! Make sure to watch the building video and to sand and wax all moving parts.

Does not move
As with many of the other reviews, I assembled everything per the instructions. Lubed and sanded where appropriate. The mechanism has too much friction and won't move by rubber band power. I can force the gear train to move by hand. Cool looking but Not recommended.

Cool, but mechanics don't work well
I bought this as a gift and was told that the spider isn't sturdy enough to actually walk in its own like in the video. Kind of a bummer since that was a major selling point for me.
