Is your soil soft?
These are fine if your soil is soft enough. Unfortunately, the place I needed to drive these in was clay and rock. These shattered when I tried driving them into the ground and hit rock. However they accepted the return on the bags of anchors I did not use. If your soil is hard look into metal anchors with washers.

Nice, Long, Almost Too Long, Paving Stakes
These came in clutch to install the pavers I got so my son, who in his wisdom got a low ass Mustang, because his new exhaust kept scaping when he backed or pulled in, due to the dip from the alley to our yard slope. These stakes hammered in, but we had to break them in half because our dirt underneath was too packed to get these through deep enough. Once we snapped them, like snapping peas on Grandma's porch in Buckingham VA, we were able to hammer these in pretty much with no problem. A couple of them did bend like Plastic Man when we hammered. But really only a few. Strudy, inexpensive, quality plastic and held as my son decided to rev the damn engine and go over it back and forth a few times to really test it. All he needed was to crank Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold" and our neighbors would have really came out shouting. But these did the trick!

Good overall.
These worked well for staking down my Vodaland EasyPave Grids, except when they'd hit immovable rocks and break or bend. Also the heads kept catching on the top edges of my grids as I tried to pound them down, but I was able to use a flat blade to deflect them over enough as I then used a wood dowel to pound them all the way down. The majority of them worked as they should.

These are not as sturdy as the ones I got directly from the company. Several of them have snapped.
