Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller Weatherproof Outdoor Enclosure, Compatible with Rachio 3 Smart Controllers, also 2nd and 3rd Generation Compatible

This is one of the best enclosures I have installed.First, it offers a 110 outlet inside the box with adequate space for the giant Wall Wart/ Transformer required. Also the 110 V wiring is isolated from the low voltage inside it's own section with a screw on door and proper 1/2 inch conduit hole to maintain safety.Second, there is plenty of room inside the box for a "service loop" for the valve wiring. This feature alone is worth the money as it makes the install look neat and allows for future replacement without cutting your wires short, like the last guys did for my system.The only drawback is there is only one conduit hole that comes as 3/4 / 1 inch. I feel the 1 inch is too small for larger installations with more that 12 zones as pushing the wiring through can become difficult. However the box is plastic and it would be easy to ask the electrician to add a hole for more valve wiring while he is installing the 110 volt supply.The controller fit is great and covers your service loop making the install look clean and professional.

Bought open box item, and it was as brand new as can be.. excellent and at a fraction of the price.Fits the rachio perfectly. Had for a while and no water goes thru.

We live in an area with water restrictions and the programmability combined with local weather info is perfect.

Aside from the many other reviews, the task I was concerned with was converting and wiring the 110VAC power to enable the controller 24 V transformer. I am happy to report that this controller provides a hole on the bottom of the controller for both the 110VAC 3 wire with connections to a standard 3 prong plug that is installed within an enclosed plastic compartment. The transformer for the controller is then plugged into the outlet with ample room and merely plugged into the controller. Just don't forget to plug in the transformer and run the wire to the front before screwing in the controller like me the first time...oops! It just added a few more minutes. I covered the bottom access holes with some duct tape as mud wasps seem to find their way into places such as these to build nests. Highly recommended.

My over 30 years old Rain Dial controller was still watering trees, shrubs, and lawn well but its buttons had gotten to the point that they were unresponsive when pressed. The dial was also slipping. Finally decided that it was time to move to a remote controllable "smart" irrigation controller.Settled with Rachio 3 controller but unfortunately it is for indoors only. In order to reuse the same electrical and control wires, I had to install the Rachio 3 outdoors and this outdoor waterproof enclosure is a must for that to happen. Very happy to find it on Amazon at a reasonable price. It is well made. Its power adapter bay inside the enclosure made connecting to existing electrical wires easy. Highly recommend this enclosure if you need to install Rachio controller outdoors.
