Lisle 63600 Oil Filter Tool,U.S.,2-1/2 - 3-1/8

Last fall I took my 2000 Chevy Silverado 4X4 to a quick lube place due to some health issues. Today I decided to change the oil and, to nobody's amazement, the oil filter and drain plug were over tightened. After reading the reviews I decided to purchased this oil filter tool in anticipation of what I would find. I was right, and the filter was too tight. I used this tool after trying my usual tool and, after I got it set, it easily got the filter loose. This will now my go to tool for filter removal.

This item was AMAZING! Lifted GMC Sierra, lift kit added a stabilizer bar from right to left, leaving a small gap to reach up and remove filter. The spot is already limited, then the lift kit killed the access, so enter this item! Perfect size, slipped right up, spring loaded, grabbed that damn filter which was already bent from multiple attempts, and it snagged it easily and twisted it right off! Great price, great item!

this works great it has never slipped off the only problems i had with it is the spring fell out of place once and on overtightened oil filters it will get stuck on the oil filter

Perfect fit for the oil filter on a Gravely with Kawasaki 1000 efi motor! The filter on my machine isn tin a les than accessible area. I wasn't able to manipulate a typical oil filter wrench so I turned to this and had no issue. Came right off! Glad I bought this thing,.

works great. had a stuck filter on a 2019 Equinox 2.0turbo that wouldn't come off with a strap wrench or a traditional oil filter wrench, just nowhere to really get the leverage needed to loosen it up. This gem slips right on the base of the filter, and with a short extension had enough clearance to remove the old filter in less than a minute. No blood, no busted hands or knuckles, no sweat.Worth every penny.

I have not even used this yet, but I have some comments on the packaging and my initial review of this.The total shrink wrap packaging was a total pain. I had to use a knife to get it off and then it got hung up on both springs. What is wrong with a simple box?Also, my intital impression is that the sliding surfaces were very rough. They had a small amount of lubricant, but it didn't help very much. So I did the best I could to sand them off with a small piece of sand paper and that helped. I have a very difficult to access oil filter, one that I can see and not reach, or reach and not see. So I need it to adjust as smoothly as possible.Another thing that would help to fix the smoothness is if they used shoulder bolts or bolts with nylon washer instead of rivets to hold it together. That would make it easier to take apart and sand all the contact surfaces.I will update this review after I use it.
