The Social Guidebook to Norway: An Illustrated Introduction Paperback – September 28, 2015

We saw this book in A Norway bookstore, but didn't have room in our luggage. Awesome book, very tongue and cheek. Completely accurate. :-)

This book is just great! My son and daughter-in-law traveled to Norway, and were so thankful they had read this book before they left. It really helped them understand what to do and what to expect while visiting!

Brilliant book! Julien S. Bourrelle has really gotten under our skin and discribed us Norwegians painfully accurate. All my international friends are having a blast reading this book.

Very funny but I wish the dating section was not in there because I don't think it is appropriate for general audience, although it's not worse than what a person sees on TV. Which is why I don't watch TV :-).I would like to go to Norway some day so I think I learned a lot about how the culture works and it has given me insight about a different way to be. I feel like i understand some people I know a little better also, because some individuals I know have the same traits. In fact, this book helped my friend to understand the "Norwegian compliment" which she often gets from her Norwegian friend. It goes something like this: "You wore that necklace when you came to visit us." Like the book says, when it comes to compliments, you don't want to overdo it. You could scare a Norwegian.

I loved it! It gives an insightful and funny representation of Norwegian Culture. Highly recommended it you ever want to travel to Norway or want to learn about Norwegians.
