Take your garage door model number and use it to verify part fitment. Note: the large 2" inch gear part that gets destroyed or chewed up.

This kit made fixing my garage door opener easy and affordable.

My 25-year-old Sears Craftsman garage door opener (made by Chamberlain) quit working. The drive gear was chewed up. I ordered this repair kit from Amazon and got it quickly. The instructions are excellent if you follow them as laid out. This kit is actually for a slightly different model opener than mine; the worm gear assembly is slightly different as is the rpm sensor. However, I was able to reuse the old worm gear after cleaning and inspecting it after disassembly; this saved some time. The drive gear and sprocket were a perfect fit for my opener. I had to/chose to use a 10-32 tap to cut 3 new threads in the mounting plate rather than fumble with the opener while on a ladder in the garage with self-tapping screws, a minor thing. I remounted the overhauled opener, reset the stops, checked the safety settings and it's back in service working like new. I am really pleased that one can still get parts for older equipment like this. Saves you a lot of money. Thank you, Amazon.PS: the cause of the gear failure was due to the top of the garage door striking the 2" x 10" opener support plate on the garage wall; the support board had gradually warped over the last 25 years. I removed the warpage with a hand block plane, so that now the door top clears the support board, and the drive gear isn't jarred on each door opening.

This gear and sprocket kit was a perfect fit for my all but 30 year old garage door opener. The parts are of quality and should last another 30 years. It was about a 1 hour job to get everything un assembled and re assembled again. Thank the lord they make these kits to revive old openers so we do not have to spend a fortune on a new one. Quality kit ,nicely packaged with clear installation instructions.

What a great fix for a problem that I would have had to replace the entire opener for. I had the same drive gear break on two openers in the same month. One was a Chamberlain and one was a Craftsman. Exact same part worked for both. Took around 30 minutes to install. Can't say enough good about how pleased I was that I essentially have a new opener for $under $20. I wish everything worked this well.
