Two vehicles to this Hot Wheels brick set makes it fun to play with
My 4-year-old son LOVES Hot Wheels (I swear our house is being taken over slowly by this brand one innocent 5-pack of cars at a time). And we are a huge Lego brick repository too. We have recently started buying him small Lego car sets. When he saw this Hot Wheels branded brick set, he went nuts. What we liked about this set:- This set is really nice because it has a car, a go-cart, and two mini figures. 138 pieces isn’t too overwhelming for two different vehicles.- There is a good amount of detail in this set: some features include a windshield, rear view mirrors, spoiler, steering wheel, etc.- The instructions were very clear / easy to follow. My son was able to follow them to know just where each piece went.- There were no missing pieces.- Even though this says 5+, my just turned 4 year old is able to put this together almost on his own. There are a lot of tiny pieces, so this set requires quite a bit of hand-eye dexterity and fine motor skills. This is why the 5+ rating.- These are compatible with other brands of bricks (Legos). The mini figures aren’t the same but you can use them on each others pieces (the Mega brands figures are shorter and have small waistlines. Underneath the helmet is not a real head (you aren’t really intended to take the helmets off to play with these like Lego sets: the head is just a tiny bump).- My son likes to push (“drive”) these around on his Hot Wheels City pieces.- The color scheme on these cars is nice - a consistent blue theme but the black/white checkered pattern is really catchy. What I don’t like as much:- Generally I don’t care for the Mega brand of bricks: they don’t seem to fit together as well and don’t stay together as well as the original. I found that these are on pair with my past experience: A couple of the car pieces are too small and don’t fit / hold together as well as they should. These are the ones my son had trouble with.Overall, I do prefer the original branded block sets but this is still a lot of fun and we are excited that there are Hot Wheels branded blocks to play with.

great "busy" kit
These little kits are so cute. They are absolutely perfect for those times that you need to entertain a kid without screen time. Not too many pieces so you can keep up with all of them (bring a sandwich ziplock bag if you thing they won't finish). Great for traveling on a plane, bringing out to eat, road trips, etc.Perfect size for Easter basket stuffer. It's too complicated for my toddler to do on his own, but he was super happy with dad helping him.

Son loves these
My son still loves cars and hotwheels things, and if it's a Lego or Mega build for a race car, he's in heaven. So this one fills all his check boxes.Price is about right where I like to see any building toy like this hit, somewhere near ten bucks per hundred pieces.Build is easy, car looks cool, since this is probably the neatest of the three we've picked up.If you have a kid who likes building and playing with the cars, this is a good choice.

Fun set!
My grandson is 8 and really has fun with these Hot Wheels model block sets. This one is definitely a winner because it comes with TWO vehicle things and two people. Like the other sets of this type, the instructions are clear, and the parts really only make these vehicles specifically. But the blocks are well made and fit together as expected. The colors are great, too, and he has fun playing with them even after getting them built.
