My air conditioning unit is located behind my bedroom wall. It’s older and produces a lot of electromagnetic interference. I also have metal framework in my walls which significantly affects Wi-Fi. Because of those issues, I was unable to find any smart bulbs that would stay connected in my bedroom. Something would always cause them to get knocked off line. I tried thread, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and none of it made much of a difference. For some reason this issue only affected smart bulbs. I worked with AI to try to find a solution and she recommended these bulbs. Allegedly they have better casing and a better antenna for such interference. I was skeptical at first because I had literally tried probably 20 different brands and none of them would stay connected for more than a day without going off-line and making me reset them. I am very pleased to report that these bulbs appear to be working perfectly. They have been online for almost 2 days straight and have not gone off-line at all. So if you’re having the same issue that I was having in regards to finding a smart bulb that would stay online despite a lot of interference, I highly recommend these bulbs. They’re more expensive, but it’s worth the extra money to have something that’s reliable. Don’t spend two years going back-and-forth between different brands of smart bulbs trying to figure out your issue. If you have metal framework in your walls, and /or you have an older air-conditioning unit that’s very close to where your smart bulbs are located, buy these bulbs.

I purchased this to replace an old first generation color 1000 which did not have home kit compatibility. I’ve been loving it ever since. Great product from reputable company. I’ve noticed that it sometimes resets to default white color and illumination, but once I command it with Siri, it quickly adjusts to the last color settings. Not sure why it resets randomly at times, but it’s a minor inconvenience that’s not really a huge problem, since I have no problems reconnecting or resynching.

My second light of this model. Bought one of these years ago, still going strong. The older one had some issues after an unexpected power outage, and support emailed me in less than an hour with info on bringing it back online. Success.I also have two other non-color bulbs for years. Still going strong. Yes, they are all a bit pricy, but for the functionality and durability - I recommend them.

Revised Review:I've owned LIFX bulbs since 2016 and I can't recommend them anymore. I've had to replace my bulbs five times since 2016. Two times, they were under warranty and I got free replacements. But three other times, I had to pay for the replacements myself. So, since 2016, I've spent $276 on LIFX bulbs. And I've only had four fully working bulbs at any one time.The last straw was that I had a bulb which, for a year, was not displaying whites properly. It could do colors, but lost the ability to do whites. This went on for a year, and I was reluctant to replace the bulb just because I didn’t want to spend the money. But I finally gave in, and I ordered a replacement. Thankfully, the bulbs are cheaper than they once were. Now the prices are about $30 a bulb, compared to when they were closer to $50. So I got the replacement from Amazon but strangely, and I don't understand how this happened, one of my other bulbs all of a sudden started having the same problem of not being able to display whites. It seems very suspicious to me that this problem happened the same day I replaced the other bulb, but maybe it was just a coincidence.In any case, now I need to replace another bulb. LIFX is not going to do it for free nor or give me a discount. And the warranties on the bulbs are only two years. The bulb that’s now malfunctioning is four years old. It itself was a replacement of a bulb that had stopped working.So at this point, I think I'd be crazy to keep using LIFX bulbs. They're too expensive. They don't last nearly as long as their stated lifespan, at least with heavy use; if LIFX truly believed in the stated lifespan the warranties would be longer. So I'm going to try some other brands. But at this point, I wouldn't recommend the LIFX bulbs to anyone.My Older Review:I've owned LIFX bulbs since 2016. I've also had to replace four of them since then because of problems. I had one bulb fail on me completely this year after just a few years of light use. So, I wish LIFX provided a longer warranty. Still, I'm committed to using them and currently have four.This week I received a new bulb to replace the one that failed earlier this year. And I was surprised and pleased that the steps for setting up the bulb have become much simpler. Back in 2016, it was a much more comvoluted process that would often take multiple attempts. But when I set up the new bulb today, the process was much simpler. It only took a few minutes and I didn't have to switch from the LIFX app to my phone's WIFI settings and then back to the app like I used to have to do.So I think these bulbs are easier to recommend now that the set up process has become much smoother.I still think they are overpriced at their normal price--they normally sell for $50. Although i got my latest bulb on here for $39 and two days later Amazon is selling them for $25, which is the lowest price I've ever seen. I think the bulbs are definitely worth it at the lower price and maybe LIFX will lower their non-discounted prices in to compete with cheaper bulbs from other companies. We'll have to see.

If you are looking for top quality smart lighting solutions look no further. The built is solid and these brand of lights last years. I first purchased one of these back when they first were sold at Best Buy in the early 2010s that first bulb lasted around 6-7 years and it only died because the software was no longer supported. I have purchased other products like the Beam, the smaller 800lm a19 this model and the br32s and they are all solid and work perfectly. After more than 10 years I keep coming back for more and even purchased a couple bulbs as gifts. The only thing is that they don't offer as many products as hue of goove, like if you are setting up an immersive home theater system. But if you are just looking for something good, simple & lasting look no further than. Wait for a deal if you can because these are definitely not cheap.
