If you care about color, don't hesitate... buy this.
Yeah the touch screen is terrible (you have to press hard). Yes, it's really hard to see in the daytime. If they can fix this two things, this would be perfect. But even with the two warts, this is better than anything else and you will not regret buying it.You can easily check the calibration using the Sun at midday. Mine was spot on.This told me that the color temp on *all* my LED lights were *way* off what they said. And it shows the blue peak on LED lights you wouldn't otherwise be able to see. SSI scores are awesome for evaluating lights. many lights have high CRI, but crappy SSI. This takes the guesswork out of lights. You can now set all your lights to the same color temperature

Any video maker or photographer who gets ONE shot under LEDS needs a color meter
Still trying to learn how to use this color meter and it’s NOT the most up-to-date interface (think think Sega game consol🤨) and the cost is way outta league with other tools of the trade… but you simply can’t risk - not match color cast from different lights and color variations in LEDs themselves - for one-off events where you have to get it right at the shoot because Post simply can’t be done or would take hours to do it.

TOO DELICATE - BAD SERVICE - $2300 wasted
Took it on my first shoot ever, thinking I might use it to color match my Aputure 300X with a magic hour shot, for a little front light. Grabbed my wrong meter (also own the Sekonic Speedmaster L-858D-U) so stuck this one in the big pocket of my cargo pants. About an hour into the shoot I tripped while stepping backwards, turned to face the ground, and somehow this meter fell about 14 inches from my cargo pocket.Display was cracked and no sign of light was emitting when I turned it on. The plastic case was also badly scratched but the lady in the NY office said she would relay that I wanted the top case replaced too. I was bummed to see that I'd be out around $500 for the repair, and had to wait almost two months. I just got it back and I was pretty bummed to see the unit came back fixed but the case was still jacked up. Now I want to sell it as "almost new" but that would be hard sell, considering they didn't replace the plastic case like I expected.I've written and called but now the office in NY isn't returning any of my messages. The work order says to fix the display and no mention of the case. Obviously they forgot. And $2300 later I've got a meter that works but looks like it was dragged on the concrete. Would maybe get half of the $1700 purchase price for it if I'm lucky?Save your money and buy ANY of the alternatives. Even iPhone has a plethora of color temperature apps that cost just a few bucks (or even free) and are as accurate. This meter shows a cool graph of the spectrum but very little of it is quantified, mostly it's just a pretty image.

Must have in an LED World
This is a great meter for any professional DP or Gaffer. Allows you to match any light to an LED say or any light to any light. Plenty of memory for storage. Works great in low light.
