This product, the outlet timer, is exactly what we needed for the small 120 volt water heater in our laundry. We turn that on when we need to have a hot wash but we forgot to turn it off when the wash is done. This timer prevents that from happening we set it for 20 minutes, the water gets hot we run the wash and it shuts itself off. Perfect. Installed easily and works as expected. This is the third wall timer for this exhaust fan in the past 5 years, all different brands. Some of the reviews here also report a short life for this timer also so we will see how it goes.

This thing is just what I wanted! It controls the fan in my bathroom. I just tested the 5-minute timer as I just installed it but it works great!! The 5 mins was right on!!The one thing I found off was it was a slightly brighter white than the white switch plate I bought so it does not quite match. I am not sure if the switch plate color is off or the color on the timer. It did not quite match the old white switch color I removed..Not a huge deal but makes my ODC go a tad crazy.All in all so far so good.

The timing numbers in each button are extremely small and therefore hard to read but otherwise the timer is nice for the price.

Nice item, the buttons are molded with labels molded into them. Firm actuation of the buttons gives a nice tactile feedback. Overall, great product at a great price. :-)

Has been working nicely for more than a year. My son was leaving bathroom exhaust fan on overnight, daily. This stopped that.Fairly common installation for a electric feature. A little tight in the socket, understandably, but everything fit, with little pushes, adjustments and patience.

History: I purchased 3 of these timers to use in a new home construction. They are used to power bathroom exhaust fans. I looked around awhile both online and in stores such as Home Depot and Lowes. This switch is priced about 2-4 dollars cheaper than most, but that wasn't my reason for buying it. I really liked the look of this switch and I liked the fact that the time intervals were 5,10,20,30,45,and 1hr. Some other switches will have much longer intervals, and because I was using this for bathroom fans I thought these intervals would be perfect.Good: Product is as described. Arrived on time and undamaged. I like the look and the push buttons. I like that it has a regular on/off function in addition to the time intervals. They fit my special ordered Gang face plates (all three of my wall plates were an uncommon gang box layout). The white is true the the standard white face-plate color. I like that the indicator light show you what setting it is on and they they change as the timer counts down. They were easy to install with good instructions. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE- I will explain more at the end of this review.Bad: I agree with a lot of the reviews that say the buttons seem loose and/or there are gaps that light will shine through. That being said it doesn't bother me one bit. If someone comes to my house and says "Hey I like your timer switches except for the fact the indicator lights shine though the cracks between the buttons" I will tell them to get the "F" out of my house you nit picky SOB! ---- I'm joking :)The biggest negative was I ordered three of these switches, and one of them was faulty. It would just turn itself on randomly. After checking with the electrician he assured me that it was wired properly and told me that the switch was bad. Unfortunately I bought these switches 2 months before I actually installed them so it was past Amazons return window. This is were it turns good again......I emailed the seller explaining what happened and that I was outside the Amazon return window and asked if I could possible exchange it for a new one. They immediately responded and said they would send me a replacement (no charge). I responded to the email thanking them and I asked if they wanted me to return the faulty one. They emailed back and said no; told me they already sent out the replacement; and provided me the tracking number. All of this took place in less than a 24 hour period! They far exceeded my expectations.Unfortunately this happens quite frequently with many products (yes most of which are from China). Their quality control isn't were it should be. A good example is that I purchased 32 recessed lights for my new home (not from this seller); and 3 of those were faulty. As a consumer we can't do too much about the sub-par products from China except for not buying them; but at least this seller respects their customers and immediately rights the wrong.

Mine only lasted just below eight years, however the original timers I used this were still working from the 1980s when the home was built. I see these are made by Ningbo Bainian in China. I replaced this failed device with a Leviton but that is also made in China so I'm not optimistic the Leviton will last. We really need to try and start making more items here in the USA that will last and be of better quality. I am willing to pay twice as much to get something I know I will not be replacing as frequently.
