Q: I have an 8 year old girl. Is the button easily pushed down?

The umbrella is too heavy for a child. The automatic button allows to close the umbrella but the stalk of the umbrella remaining to pull down(to reduce) requires a lot of strength in arms even for me adult.

Q: How big is the canopy when opened?

Q: Is the umbrella supposed to lock in place when open? Mine does not and I'm wondering if it is missing part of the mechanism
