Natrol Alpha Lipoic Acid 600 mg, Dietary Supplement for General Wellness, 45 Tablets, 45 Day Supply

I see the price went from$9.99 to 13.99 in about a months' time. That is a big price increase, I think. I especially liked the product because of the price compared to other brands.I got this because I have neuropathy in my lower legs and feet. I do not have diabetes.Some mornings when I would get up and take a shower it felt like I was standing on rocks in the shower. Now I don't have that.I have been taking this for almost a month one a day with a meal. If I don't take it in the morning with breakfast, I make sure I take it at the noon meal. I have found out that if I take it later in the day, say like with a late 2 or 3 pm lunch it will give me a strong chemical smell in my urine. Plus, this pill seems to give me more energy as well and I want the energy to be spread throughout the day. Otherwise, I have still had energy when I needed to go to bed. I am not talking crazy energy now; I just have more ambition to get up and do things. I feel a little less old and worn out, I am 66 years old. I don't get that mid-day blah feeling dragged down like I used too. Like I said I feel more ambitious to do the basic household chores. Where as I was tired, and my legs and feet would bother me if I stayed on them to long.Another thing I have noticed that I like is that I am not as hungry, and I have lost a few pounds. I am not having leg cramps anymore at night and my legs and feet don' t hurt when I get up.I hate the price went up now that I have come back to reorder them.

I had just run out of ALA and at my age, I NEED it! ALA seems to help me with my circulation - meaning I can tell the difference in how my feet feel when I don't take my ALA for a few days. There are a few things that I can really tell work and ALA is one of those things. Folic acid is another - of course I take a daily vitamin tablet which I think is important but it really is something I can point to when I take (or don't take) ALA. As soon as I received these I opened and started my once a day with them. My feet are warm, they don't feel...stiff or...I don't know how to explain the feelings in them when I don't take ALA. These are working fine and at a really good price.

Trusted brand of high quality. I have been taking the 300 mg and now this 600 mg in time release. The pill/tablet is fairly large however because of the shape it is very easy to take. This has helped my overall health and has helped to eleviate foot pain. I have this on scheduled delivery and highly recommend..

This product has literally changed my life. I was diagnosed with neuropathy in both feet 4 years ago, cause unknown. I have intense burning pain in both feet whenever I'm standing or walking. Before I started taking ALA, I could only be on my feet for 5 or 10 minutes at the most before the burning pain started and I'd have to sit for a while. As you can imagine, that limited me from doing so many things -- vacuuming, grocery shopping, working, etc. I've been to countless doctors and tried many different prescription medications. I'm a pharmacist, and I had tried gabapentin, Lyrica, Tegretol, amitriptyline, and others. Nothing helped. Then a fellow pharmacist told me that ALA is being used with much success for diabetic and non-diabetic neuropathy. Normally I'm a skeptic when it comes to supplements -- as a pharmacist, I must follow FDA guidelines. Supplements are not supported by the FDA, which means they have no proof to be either safe OR effective. I researched ALA and saw all the evidence of its success. I know that ALA is an anti-oxidant and it's something our body already has, so it's safer than a foreign chemical or supplement. I was desperate, so I tried taking 600mg once daily. Within 2 weeks, I was able to be on my feet for about 30 minutes before the pain started. That meant I could actually vacuum my living room (I've never been so happy to vacuum!) and do my own grocery shopping again. I continued taking it, and now I can be on my feet for about 60 minutes (sometimes more) before the pain starts and I have to sit for a while. So ALA gave me my life back and I am grateful beyond words. I've recommended ALA 600mg to so many people (including many of my patients at the pharmacy). I've only used Natrol brand, because it's a trustworthy company -- something that is vitally important when buying vitamins and supplements, since the FDA does not monitor those products. It's one year later and I recently bumped up the dosage, just to see what would happen. I now take a 600mg time release tablet in the morning, and in addition I take 300mg in the morning and 300 mg at night. So now I'm on a total of 1200 mg/day. This was a recent dosage change and I haven't yet seen any notable difference. I'll give it another month or two...and if there's no further improvement, then I'll cut back down to 600mg daily and I'll be grateful for the improvement that I've seen. If you suffer from neuropathy in the hands or feet, regardless of the cause, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about ALA. Check with them to make sure it will not interact with other medications/conditions. I hope that you'll experience the benefits that I have.

Not sure why these pills are yellow. I have taken Alpha Lipolic Acid from a different brand for several years now. I changed brands and while happy that these do not cause stomachache (the other brand did), I fail to understand the need for yellow tint which obviously colors your urine too. As to effectiveness, they seem to be effective (neuropathy), and I admit I like that they are slow release.

In my personal wellness routine I always take alpha lipoic acid because it is an excellent antioxidant, I bought this from the Natrol brand at an excellent price, it arrived on time, with the sealed container and its content of 45 complete tablets. I like that each tablet brings the 600 mg daily that I usually consume in a single dose, they do not have a noticeable taste or smell, although the tablets are large they are easy to swallow because they are very compact. It is an excellent product.
