Driver's side fan and opposite rotation from OEM
My daughter's 2009 Tiguan cooling fan went out. It is the drivers side fan (1 of 2) and this is the larger of the two fans. I did some searching and wanted to go with this one. The description does NOT confirm which of the 2 fans it is. It should say it is the driver's side fan. I had to do some creative research on part numbers elsewhere online to be confident that this was the drivers side fan. It is.A couple of issues came up once I received the fan and went to install it. First, the pitch of the fan blades tilt the opposite direction of the original fan. I was worried that the direction of air flow would then be going the opposite direction, but noticed that the arrow on the hub indication direction of rotation is also the opposite. So in theory, it rotates the opposite direction as the original fan, but the air flow should still be going the correct direction. Not sure why they did this in this after market fan. The other issue is that the fan would not fit without some minor modifications. It was not that hard to slightly bend the metal "tabs" holding the threaded studs which mount the fan and get them to align with the 3 holds in the frame assembly. The other issue was the main electrical plug did not have a relieved corner to fit into the car's plug. I had to take an oscillating saw and cut off the outer corner. Once I did that and trimmed it up, it plugged in just fine. Without doing this, it is impossible to plug it in. I haven't actually heard the fan run yet. I installed this in the winter and the car has not warmed up enough. At least this info should help someone.

Bad quality...
Purchased this item for and VW Eos 2012 and the fan blades are not balanced. They even put a weight on one of the fan blades. Also the fans are really flexible plastic and not stiff causing turbine noise. The blades were also mounted uneven to motor once installed. Product worked but dont recommend buying. Honest review.

A good replacement part.
Standard replacement radiator fan. Well made.Mostly simple to install. Normally I would not do it myself, I would let my mechanic do it. But I had a friend to help me who knew what to do for my car.It took about 30 minutes to install and make sure that it worked well.It is a good replacement part.
