Other than the white color and the leather case is there any difference between this and the black Eton Satellit? Any difference in functionality?

This is what I was told by the sales associate at Universal Radio, one of the few shortwave and ham radio shops that have been around for years and are a distributor for Eton/Grundig products- " the original black Eton/Grundig satellit and the new eton/grundig executive satellit are the same radios except for the color and the leather wrap case on the new executive satellit. The original black model is being discontinued, thus once these inventories are sold, only the new executive satellit in gray color with the leather case will be available". I checked the firmware version of my new executive satellit and it gas the same version/revision as the current black models, thus showing no difference in performance or features. If you're a fan of the black color case over they gray w/leather, I would try to order now before those inventories are exhausted...

getting good reception in europe?

Yes, as long as the broadcasts are in the frequency range of the radio.
