We do Home Theater/Automation installations and this matrix came in very handy. We had a project with 5 set top boxes in the media room all going to 5 different rooms via HDMI over Cat 6. There is also a Blu-Ray player that is shared among all the rooms. We added this matrix after the original design because the customer wanted to share the Blu-Ray player among different rooms if need. We are RTI dealers/installers so even though J-Tech didn't have any discrete infrared codes for switching the outputs, we were more than happy to find that there were RS-232 serial commands in the manual that we could use. So far this matrix is working like a champion. It also resolved an issue we were having with the HDMI over Cat 6 balun. The HDMI chip on most set top boxes is made by Cisco, and the chip has a problem doing the 'handshake' with the HDMI chip on most baluns. With the matrix sitting between the STBs and the balun, we no longer have that problem. NOTE: EDID settings will need to be adjusted if your image cuts in and out. This was probably an issue for us because we sent the image over Cat6 using a balun, so it might not be an issue if you use HDMI cables only.

Stay away from this particular particular model. This is my 3rd purchase for the same model and I had the same issues where after a few days / weeks one of the output ports starts behaving erratically then they are completely dead. I had 2 output ports dead after 2 weeks, a huge waste of time and pain to troubleshoot. None of my inputs were 4K, simple 1080P sources.J-Tech seems to provide great service and hassle free support, I purchased a similar device from another seller (co-branded differently) and luckily was within the warranty and they honored to return it after 2 months. Then I purchased it slightly more expensive from J-Tech given their good reputation, but seems like this model is simply flawed, hence the relatively cheap price. I opted to get a more expensive H-BaseT model.

I like that it can rack mount, that was unexpected. Everything seemed fine, easy to operate. Had a problem right out of the box. I have 6 satellite receivers and a bluray player hooked to it. Satellite works great but the bluray only works on one of the tv's. Tried a different bluray same problem. Changed cables, switched cables around to see if there was a bad one. Can't find any help on the internet cause I don't know the manufacturer. Don't know if this is an inherent problem or isolated to myself. I found people with the same problem but different equipment. Can't find any info for my exact problem.

Great product. My client very satified. I will purchase again if any inquiry from my client. But the shipping from third company late than expected.

This is the third device I bought to do this cross over stuff. It sends the 8-HD signal to 8 different devices. The prior two never worked. This one works perfectly. It also does so more than I have time to set up, I plan to set everything up, but I will need a few more months to run CAT-6 wire over the house that can take me months. Since, what I am using it for works, there is no reason to believe when I set everything up, it will continue to work. That is why I gave it 5 stars. The only question is the cost, but I quess you get what you pay for

I’ve had this for three years now and can honestly say it’s of very poor quality. Two of the input ports no longer work. The screen is almost to the point of being unreadable. And now there is choppy signal where the screen goes black for a second and then comes back and then goes black again for a couple of seconds. Likely the sign that yet another port is going bad. I would not spend money on this product. It’s just not well made. I have an older Toolbox in another room and it still runs as well as the day I bought it. Buyer beware.

Only 1 of the ports were working on the first one. I immediately returned it and just hooked it up and not a single port is working on new one. This only means it’s absolute junk. I’m now going to return and try a different brand.
