OrzlyNintendo Switch Joy-Cons Grips Twin Pack (Black)

Fantastic! Now much easier to use!
Even though the joy-cons are meant for easy two player portability, the controllers do feel a bit crammed and awkward to use.I bought these grips with the intention of improving that, and improve it does. The joy-cons are quickly slotted into the mini controller holes from top to bottom, and are secure and sturdy. Instantly when holding them, I could feel that they now handle a lot better. As an added bonus and something I don't see mentioned here, the LED's on the top of the joy-cons are clearly visible due to a 3mm clearing, and also the reflect of the shiny black plastic.Highly recommended. You can see my video demonstration of this product on my YouTube channel "CrawlinUK Games" or search for code: DMTHDDBgHTw

Great little accessories
(Note: The grips I received were the "Improved for 2018" ones, as stated on the packaging)These are hard plastic grips that you put the Joy-Cons into for easier holding. They have handles, and two shoulder buttons that push on the Joy-Con shoulder buttons when you press them-as in, they aren't separate buttons that work in and of themselves, they just push on existing buttons. Both grips are the same.To use, you just push the Joy-Con gently in. It goes in easily, and comes out just as easily, but isn't loose and doesn't fall out or move around. There are a few gaps around the edges after putting the Joy-Con in but again it doesn't move around or seem to affect anything. We tested it with Mario Kart 8. Other reviews were saying the shoulder buttons didn't work well/at all or you couldn't tell when they were pressed. I didn't have this issue-they could definitely be improved, by giving more of a click say, but I could tell when they were pressed and didn't seem to have any issues drifting around the tracks. All the other parts of the Joy-Con were still accessible and easy to press and reach. The only other potential issue was that the hard plastic of the handles/sides felt like they dug into my hands after a little while, underneath the thumb. Putting a silicone section over these areas may help, and help with grip issues after playing for a while, if they were to redesign these again in the future. As is, I would recommend this (the improved 2018 version) for anyone who uses the Joy-Cons individually for multiplayer. They're inexpensive and made playing much more comfortable, especially for longer times.

Makes the Joy Cons suitable for grown up hands
The joy cons are way too small when using in landscape on games such as Mario Kart, you can feel a red shell about to whack you up the backside but just can't find the button to block it with that banana you have been saving just for that pre-bum-whack moment. But then I found these, simply pop the joy con into the grip and it's a normal sized controller again with all of the joy con functionality, so for the strange folks who prefer to use the gyro to steer (wierdos) you can still do that without having to use a teeny steering wheel.I opted for the coloured versions after reading reviews about colour transfer from the black ones and they also look way cooler. The shoulder buttons work well but do need a firm press as there is now more travel, just don't tell your opponent. One happy customer and much less bum soreness from being battered by shells.

Poor controller fit and indestinct hinged buttons.
A reasonable attempt at solving the problem of the small size of the JoyCons, marred by fit and finish problems.Fistrly, the JoyCon doesn't quite sit inside the grip properly- that's original neon JoyCons and recently bought grey ones too. However you press it in it never quite sits correctly- always a few mm raised at the edge closets to you.Second,y, the shoulder buttons are both hard to press and really indestinct. You don't feel any sort of click or satisfying "notch" so that you can know you successfully pressed them. To be fair, I've owned a few of these type of adapter grips over the years (Vita, etc) and, any time they attempt a hinged button, as here, it never quite feels right.A merely average grip. Unless they're dirt cheap, I'd wait for a better designed one to come along.

Great addition to the switch
U don't normally leave reviews much but since they reached out to me for a review I feel that it's such a good product. It's perfect for kids or adults who think the joycons are a little too small, they give it some grip and comfort. I was a bit worried that they might obstruct certain buttons but everything lines up perfectly. Thanks Orzly for a great product, me and my daughter love them and they are a regular addition to our gameplay.
