APDTY 028727 Transmission Output Vehicle Speed Sensor VSS Replaces 15547452, 12215001, SC131, 5S4668

Takes a large wrench to install. I used a crescent wrench which made it more difficult due to how much space is available in the area. That said, the old one came out real quick, didn't even need to jack up my 4x4 to get to it. The new one took me longer to install, but that was only due to the tool I was using and the design of the truck limiting how much I could turn it. It took me around 20 minutes total to install.My spedometer is now working through the full spectrum of speeds though it is off slightly; 1 MPH at slow speeds and 3 MPH at 70 MPH though that could be attributed to my large tires and not the speed sensor.

I’m no mechanic but this was an easy fix....once I figured out which sensor I needed. The VSS are different for 2WD and 4WD, this one is for 4WD and is on the back of the transfer case, easy to get to. It works with both the 4L60E and 4L80E transmissions.

This OE-style replacement VSS sensor was easy to replace and worked flawlessly. A 1" wrench or deep socket fits the hex. It corrected the ABS light, no speedometer operation and incorrect transmission shifting (it would upshift into second but nothing higher). All issues have been resolved. I used this to replace a AC 12215001 sensor on my 2000 chevy S-10 4X4 with 5 speed manual transmission. Was very easy to install...fits on side of transfer case. If you have a 1" open end wrench, you can do this yourself without even jacking up your vehicle. Removed old sensor...replace with this one & you are good to go ! Much cheaper than OEM part..warranty is 1yr.

Install easy on 96 Tahoe but speedometer is easy off at 60mph. As much as 10. Maybe there are different sensors for different tahoes. I just ordered based on my 4wd model. Guess you better do some research.

Fixed my trans . shifting problem on my '98 Chevy Blazer. Made it run better than before. Guess it had been bad when I bought the vehicle. Happy Camper!!

This item does not fit a 1999 Yukon! Purchase the larger black plastic OEM replacements! I found this out the hard way after a tough removal. I realized the part does not fit and attempted to re installed the old one. It was damaged on removal and now my vehicle will not function. I will be walking to the autoparts store for the correct part. Very very frustrating.
