Q: So how do you wash it effectively in a machine if the pillow doesn’t detach? Is this an issue for anyone?

I washed it as normal per the items directions with no problems. The pillow isnt all that thick.

Q: My daughter is around 3 ft tall would this be too small for her to lay on?

No. My son is taller than that and uses it just fine.

Q: Will this attach (e.g., have velcro) to the cots at daycare?

There are Velcro strips on the back of the mat to secure it close when rolled. I’m not sure if they’re in the right locations to attach to a mat.

Q: How thick is the mat in this?

Not very thick, thinner than an actual “sleep mat” but thicker than a towel. It’s like a sleeping bag. My son used it on top of a cot.
