I was skeptical about this. I have had cables that convert hdmi to dp and always had issues with them. I was unsure this connector would work for what I needed it for. I was wrong. This thing is cheap and works incredibly well. I have had no issues with resolution or picture quality. Can't comment on sounds as I've been using another sound source. Good product.

I had only one HDMI port and wanted to use 2 monitors. I use this adaptor, and it works great. Now I can split my work on separate monitors.

I recently had a media center desktop computer upgraded to new components (CPU, Memory, etc.). This computer had two HDMI outputs. In the "second" system in which I use this computer I have a 7" monitor and a video projector. I use the monitor when I play music and the projector when I show movies using this system. (I can use them both at the same time but I usually do not do so.)Well, that media center computer HAD two HDMI outputs but the newer components came with only one HDMI output and one Display Port output. It appears to be "built like a tank."It just plugs directly into the DP and its output goes directly to an HDMI cable.Obviously, as you can tell from my Star rating and the title of my review, it works absolutely perfectly.And for $5.99 you just can't go wrong. Plug this into your computer's DP output, and plug an HDMI cable into the other end. It does what you need for it to do. The only odd issue is that the company logo is on the bottom of the adapter, rather than the top. It's usual for this sort of product to give you an indication of which way to plug it in by putting the markings on top. That's a small matter once it's connected, and the quality of the build is very satisfactory.

Well built and does what it is supposed to do. I connected my Dell laptop to my Samsung TV via HDMI and couldn’t get audio after many attempts. Used this to output DisplayPort from laptop and convert to HDMI and it fixed the issue.Now using old laptop as gaming machine with XBOX controllers to play on big screen with AV receiver playing sound with HDMI ARC from TV. Retro gaming!

It works as advertised.
