Livpow RV Roof vent fans are designed to be reversible so all you need to do is flip a switch.

Q: Does it have a screen?

it have Bug screen and keeps insects out and is easy to remove for cleaning or maintenance.

Q: Less than 2” roof thickness. Probably just over 1 1/2. Think I can get it to work?

I installed it in my 1966 Aloha and pretty sure it was no more than 2" If not you can always put a wood trim piece on the ceiling around it to make it a bit thicker then the trim work that comes with the vent will surly fit fine.
