Wish I'd purchased this sooner!
We have a large privacy fence which is a MAJOR pain to paint - especially by hand. We'd had this fence fitted a good couple of years ago, and have had it as a painting project for a good couple of summers as well! Living in Scotland, the Summers disappear as quickly as they come so finding the time to spend hours and hours and hours to pain this awkward fence was challenging. We are due to renovate our garden and decided that now was the time to revisit the painting monstrosity from scratch. I used a roller to paint the front slats and then started the painstaking process of painting the sides of the slats, and then what is effectively a second fence behind ours by hand with a brush (I hope this makes sense). Having spent hours and several weekends completing bits that hadn't been done previously I had pretty much finished the job except for one side that needed slat sides and the 2nd (back fence) painting - this is where the frustration came in. I needed to use a 1/2 inch brush to get through the gaps in the slats and it was at this moment I decided enough was enough - I'm buying a sprayer to complete the task (should have done this months, if not years ago!!). The fence was built by 2 separate traders so there is a slight difference on one element of the fence in terms of the gaps in the fence slats - one could be painted by hand (which I had) the other absolutely not - not with a 1/2 brush anyway!!(I have a 3 young kids, I work away a lot and our lives are very busy so time is short and very precious - just incase you're wondering why its taken years to paint a fence)Spent some time on Amazon and B&Q reading reviews and came across this product. I was apprehensive as we'd had 'professionals' come and quote for the job and advised against using a sprayer - weather conditions impacting, finish, consistency etc.I didn't want to spend a massive amount given I'd done most of the job already, but didn't have the patience to continue - so I picked this up whilst on offer (£58).I didn't need to water down the pain as actually the 2.5 litre Cuprinol (Urban Slate) paint already seems to be very watery - I'm not sure if that's by design or not (the 5 litre is far thicker). It arrived next day and now I was simply waiting for the right weather and moment to start the job!!The moment had come, the weather was good - sun was out, slight breeze but I was committed to getting this done - The renovation will start in a week or so and we go away for a week, so I had to just take the plunge!! I put everything together which is super easy, filled the canister with paint and pinged on the power and then WOW.This thing is exceptional for the cost. It sprays evenly, consistently, no clogging, very little spray excess (there was a light breeze), clean, effective coverage - it was just a joy to use! Don't get me wrong, after a short period of time my arm was aching, that's not a product issue, that's holding a heavy paint in a canister moving up and down.I'd completed the work I wanted to do within 30-40 mins (it would have taken days by hand) and then I decided to continue to 'touch up' the rest of the fence that had been painted in stages over the years which had elements of a green mossy substance starting to appear - mostly the side slats and the inner fence. Well, needless to say I'd repainted the whole thing within another hour! I couldn't believe how simple this process was and I'd kept saying to the wife exactly that - I cannot believe how quick and easy that was and why didn't I do that sooner!!Anyway, I hope this review helps if you are looking for a Fence/Decking sprayer to do the job - this thing is more than adequate! I'm already excitedly deliberating my next project!! Best £50 I've spent in a LONG time!! Fantastic product, easy to use and most importantly - a major time saver!!!

Easy to use and assemble, sprays evenly is light to hold..
I really cannot fault this, used it to spray my garden fence with Creostain, an oil based wood treatment for repelling water. The spray gun worked really well and saved me a lot of time, just be aware though that it must be cleaned really well after use. I'm sure this spray gun will last me for years. The spray distributed the product evenly but does make a fair bit of mess, I would recommend to others as long as you have a lot of fence to paint, if just a short length use a brush, also remember to use a brush against walls,

Fence sprayer.
Fantastic paint sprayer, what a difference time wise, painting with a brush took hours, now two 40' fences took less than 90 minutes, shoulder strap is a good idea, not a lot of noise, however my 4star review is all positive BUT my only disappointment is the length of the electric cable, its far to short, you need to start & Stop often to move everything, not a huge deal , more annoying another 2mtrs would be much better.I contacted the manufacturer to see if this could be done by an electrician, I was advised NO because it invalidates my guarantee.... other than that 👍.I used sprayable fence paint, good job. Super easy to clean.

Worth getting time saver !!
Brilliant bit of kit this is. Worked very well what used to take me around 45mins a fence panel by brush took me around 5 mins if that. I used wilko wax fence paint and it didn't need diluting. Easy to set up idiot proof. And very easy to clean when finished.

Excellent coverage. Powerful and lightweight.
Totally impressed with this machine. It gives excellent coverage. Very powerful. The noise level acceptable for the amount of power associated with it. It is lightweight with easy manoeuvrability. Did find it easier to place the blower part on the ground. The flexible tube is long enough to do that. Comparing the cost and quality of other spray guns I think this was the best value for the cost of £60. It comes with a 4 year guarantee. I still can't believe how good it paints and how fast. In no time we have garden benches and fence panels that look as good as new.

Best spray gun I've bought to date
I wish that I'd bought one of these years ago. I have a lot of fencing and wooden outbuildings that need painting every year or so. I tried the cheaper hand held sprayers but they always clogged up and I also tried using my compressor with a spray gun but that wasn't very successful either. This is the best sprayer that I have used to date. Don't get too hung up on paint viscosity and worry about adding too much water. My wife bought some garden furniture paint to paint some 6' hardwood benches. Each single slat of the bench has four sides so doing the job with a brush was a complete non-starter, life's too short. The paint she bought was somewhere between double cream and yoghurt in consistency and I ended up using half and half, water to paint, in order to get it to flow through the supplied viscosity jug. You do need to stir very well, even a bent piece of heavy wire in the end of a drill will do the trick. It thinned the paint a lot but the sprayer spouts it out at quite a rate so getting a good coating is easy and I did a whole bench, top, back and underside in around 15 minutes.Cleaning up, as with any job, is always a bit of a pain. First you need to fill it up with some clean soapy water and spray until it comes out clean. But the real beauty of the Wagner is that all of the electrics are in the compressor so you can take the actual sprayer apart and dump all the bits it in a bucket of soapy water and use a paint brush to clean off the bits of paint.Oh, and it does make sense to fit the carrying strap and put the compressor on your shoulder. On its first outing I left it on the ground where it and the hose got badly hit by over-spray. The hose gets warm so this dried the paint on good and solid so it wouldn't wash off. Oh well.Excellent piece of kit.
