So far, very good.
Adidas Skipping Rope SetEarly days yet, but very pleased with the quality of the product. I'm skipping with the heavier handle weights and heaviest rope in an empty studio in my gym. So using on a wooden floor and consider like other reviewers that the plastic coated steel rope wouldn't last long on concrete or flag stones outside.I'm 5'9" and the rope length is fine but I'm sure your torso to leg ratio may be a factor. Last skipped 20 years ago when karate training, never made nidan though!Ordered Sunday and delivered on Tuesday on standard free delivery, excellent to my mind.Good product, well packaged and a fast (steel) rope certainly worth what I paid. Be nice to know if the UK manufacturer could supply spares?

Good rope. Would be useful to be able to ...
Good rope. Would be useful to be able to replace a single rope without having to buy the whole kit again.

Great for learning to skip but wont last forever
This is an awesome rope. The added weight within the cable made it very easy to learn to skip. I had been trying with cheaper speed ropes for a while and never got past that embarrassing stage in the gym where you keep getting caught up. Having transitioned to this rope, I quickly got a lot more control and it came naturally. Double-unders are not an issue. It also comes with a lighter speed rope and weights for the handles when you want an extra challenge. The down side however is that it will not last for ever. I am on my second rope as the end broke off. This is in part due to a poor design and also due to the fact that I was learning the 'ropes' and kept on standing on it. Having said all that the fact that I went and spent another £27 on another rope, same type, probably says everything. If you are learning, go the extra mile, spend the money and set yourself up with the heavier of the two ropes and no weights. I was shocked at how easy it was compared to what I tried previously.

Good but with flaws
The first impression of the Adidas weighted rope is a good one and with a good concept, allowing choice of combinations of weights and ropes; the feel is also very good, extremely good to use and a quality product BUT.... The lighter of the two ropes is pretty much useless, far too light and difficult to even feel the rope as it turns; particularly skipping outdoors and if there is the slightest wind. Most flawed though is the fact that if you use them on a hard surface (as I do) after a short while the plastic coated wire rope begins to wear and fray. I use it on a stone patio and it is now creating sparks with every turn of the rope. I would say that I have used it for about 10 / 12 hours in total and within a few more hours the heavy wire rope will have totally worn through.I wouldn't mind this if it were at all possible to buy spares but, so far, I have trawled the internet for hours trying to find alternative wire "rope" but can not find one anywhere.... Has anyone else been able to find any??So the end result is that I will have spent the best part of £30 on a very, very good rope, one that I would like to use long term (it suits me perfectly) but after only 15 hours use I will have to go and find a replacement. At £2 per hour it would ahve been cheaper to buy a gym memebreship!!Please please someone tell me how I can fget a replacement rope!!

Check length before you buy
the product looks great and comes in a neat little travel pack, unfortunately at 5ft 9 its just too long for me which i didnt realise when i bought it, and unfortunately its not adjustable. Only negative i would say is that the range of motion is quite restictive as the rope has little freedom at the end of the handles. great with the weights and for standard keep fit skipping, if you want to progress i wouldnt go for this for more interesting speed skipping one though.

I bought this item and the connector on the end ...
I bought this item and the connector at one end of the cable twisted off after around 6 weeks of normal use. I've since used the weighted cable without the handles. Adidas suggested that I return the item to Amazon, sadly I don't appear to have an option to do that. Avoid.
