how high off the floor is the standing platform on the 5 ft. ladder?

Alex Ahn's answer form 12-3-16 is correct according to the Little Giant website. The 5' ladder top platform is 34" from the ground.

Sandy, the feet are a hard rubber/vinyl so it conforms to the surface that it is on. You can very secure about being on the ladder. I use it on a highly polished wooden floor and this adheres. I have even put it on a slightly slanted floor and it worked beautifully.

Why is the 5 ft $20 cheaper that the 4 ft?

Have no idea. Our 5 ft is perfect. Little Giant could best answer that. One thought s that 4ft may sell better because of a more convenient closet storage. Ours is stored at bottom of ground floor steps. We have ceiling-high kitchen cabinets, but always had a 3 step step-stool,which slides beside refrigerator. The 5 ft is just great for jobs around house and the balance safety it affords.
