Commands and Colors Ancients: Greece vs the Eastern Kingdoms

First up, I am a big fan of the core game Command and Colors Ancients, so this review could be seen as being rather unbiased.What do you actually get for your cash? A rule book covering a whole load of new famous Battles in which to fight and a shed load of blue and natural finish unit blocks to sticker up. Yeah I know people moan about these and yes I agree, they don't take 5 minutes to do. But if you just suck it up and spend about an hour doing each side, you will realise the effort was well worth it.Also I come from a wargaming background where you had to clean, glue, undercoat then paint hundreds of miniatures per side, so putting a few stickers on wooden blocks was nothing.You also get some more sets of terrain hex's in which to fit out your battle board along with special unit tokens.At present I have not played any of the battle scenarios yet as myself and a friend are still working our way through the scenarios in the core game. If these are anything to go by we will be in for an absolute treat as the Carthaginian/Roman battles have been extremely fun to play. The prospect of playing out Alexander the Great hustling his way into the Persian Empire is just too good to miss.Bottom line is, if you like the core game, get this. Its a military history buff's paradise.
