It's the NAT GEO we love. Educational and fun.
My buddies 7 year old loves this thing. Holy crap he loves this thing. He has forts everywhere he goes. Little dude is gonna be an engineer or an architect easily if that is the route he takes later in life. Until then, he is gonna keep having fun, and this is a part of it.-Parts plus extras were all there, and there are a ton. The blanket clips are flimsy, don't bother and just get some decent heavy general duty kind of spring loaded clamps from your hardware store or aisle.-This thing is fun to just take off on and let him work out how to make things stay standing up, and then stay up after he applies the blanket as a static load.-Overall quality is high. Nat Geo can get a little overboard with being chintzy sometimes, but this is not one of those times.-BYOB. Blanket y'all, blanket. Wouldnt be bad as a chill brew and book nook though. Might have to get little dude let me borrow it. But bring your own blanket, or tarp, or sheet, or even a branch roof if you feel squirrelly and creative.10/10 rating from a 7 year old blur of finding out how things work.

Fun!
My 8yo and I have built so many cool things with this. We've had to get creative a few times wishing we had more of a certain type of connector. But definitely tons of build options.

Fun if you buy multiple sets
I purchased a mix of the 70 piece and 135 piece kits when they were on sale to maximize the number of dark blue connectors and light blue half dome connectors. Here is a fort I built with my 5 year old kid with the # of parts we needed (photo shows more light blue half dome parts, I didn't want to take apart the fort to remove them). My kid definitely needs an adult /older person to help twist and/or insert the poles into the connectors. We put a flat bedsheet over top after this photo was taken and the fort is still sturdy. My kid moved pillows and blankets inside and has been sleeping there all weekend.

Nice idea…a little tricky to build
These are a little complicated for my 7 year old. I’m stuck building for him…which was not the intended idea. You can make cool forts but you need to be pretty handy.

Great gift for ANY kid of any age.
My kids love making forts…. But it always involves draping blankets and sheets over the dining room table and it just becomes a disaster. We got this kit for our five year old for his birthday. His nine year old brother also loves it.We got the package with the most pieces- and if you’re debating on which kit to get, get the big kit!My five year old does need my assistance in setting it up- but once it’s up (and it’s easy to do) he’s just fine!If I had one suggestion for Nat Geo though ! If their website had an option to purchase additional pieces! I mean I know I can buy another kit right? But it would be nice if we could buy like a ten pack of the clips….or a ten pack of the green joints….It really is so fun though!

Disappointing Purchase- Terrible product
I got the 135-piece set as a Santa gift for our 7-year-old daughter, and I’ve regretted it ever since. My daughter has cut her finger twice while using it, and the structure is very unstable. She managed to build the only fort that fits her size, but it’s poorly designed. If you follow the ideas in the instructions, the structures are so small that they’re only suitable for a 2-year-old. I wish I could return it, but my daughter accidentally tore a piece of the box when opening it. Save your money and avoid this product!

I honestly hate these
I will give it two stars but I honestly hate this thing. It was wildly over priced for what it is. Both children and adults find it difficult to build anything of any level of structural integrity with this amount of connectors. The pieces are a pain to pull apart. The fort does not withstand the weight of a sheet. It takes an ungodly amount of time to even attempt to build something of worth and then it wont stand. Its awful, its not fun, its a massive waste of money.
