Extemely well featured and reliable
We are running 40+ Draytek routers. We choose the Drayteks because they have plenty of features such as VPN tunnels that can be set up router to router and good security if you use the filtering. But the main reason we have continued with the Drayteks is their excellent reliability - we have had units with 100% up time over more than 5 years.Issues? If you get a model with WiFi then it isn't as quick as some of the very best and the range isn't as far. The interface does an awful lot of different things (Load sharing, hardware failover, VPN, filtering etc.), and it isn't always obvious how to achieve something. It also assumes a basic level of knowledge that might be beyond a casual user. The massive advantages these have over typical 'consumer' routers is their bullet proof reliability, wired speed, ability to deal with massive bandwidth, and huge feature list, if that's what you're looking for then I can't recommend them highly enough. The wifi is great but not the very fastest on the market and is the only blot on its formidable abilities.

Great for (slightly) advanced users
As a part-time geek I like to have control over my internet connection and the kit supplied by most ISPs doesn't allow things like changing DNS provider, multiple WANs, failover to USB or a VPN. Most of which I have started to have a need for, partly to protect the kids from the evils of the internet and accessing files from my home server remotely.Admittedly, the Draytek 2862 does require a bit of experience to set up the advanced features but the basic stuff takes just a few minutes and works with pretty much any ISP assuming you know your user name and password - not all ISPs are keen to hand these out but there are ways...It's worth noting that there is no wifi built into this system but that's fine for me as I have a separate access point for that.Target market seems to be small businesses or home users in need of a few more features.

Tried for 5 years
Just doesnot work well with StarLink. The UI is horrible. Maybe I am not tech enough.

Multiple wan inputs, stable and feature rich. Excellent product!
Excellent enterprise grade router. Stable with multiple wan input options. Paired with a good set of wireless access points provides a solid network infrastructure. I would advise anyone with a standard isp provided modem to upgrade to this or something similar.

Great full-featured home router.
Replacement router for failing Plusnet supplied device. Easy to install. Default settings work perfectly. Good range of additional functionality including VPN and VLAN. Very steady internet connection. User interface functional but not always easy to follow. Online instructions are very good in balancing this. High cost option if you’re not going to use all the bells and whistles.

Good piece of kit for small business or more technical home user
Very happy with this. It's not for your average home user, but for fine for a techie home user or small business.Stable, and slightly higher sync rates than cheaper modems.

A very good Firewall / Router
I bought this to replace my old, slow router which was limiting my broadband download speeds. It plugged in to my network and worked straight out of the box. My download speeds are greatly improved and there are lots of options for me to play with in the weeks to come. All in all, an excellent wired firewall / router.

Misleading product labelling and description - likely illegal.
Extremely misleading product labelling and description, I am pretty sure it contravenes the Trade Descriptions Act 1968. This product does not have 3G/4G or Wi-fi despite the images and text implying so. Failing to describe clearly and accurately the product being sold or a misleading description is an offence in the UK. Returning this one so I can look for one that has at a minimum a SIM slot for the 4G SIM card.
