It is nerve wrecking giving your newborn a bath without knowing the temperature of the water. Baby was screaming during the first bath at home and after I ordered this and used it for the next bath at a temp of 100-101 he hasn’t cried in the bath since, he just needed the correct temperature so he was comfortable. I think the first bath wasn’t warm enough, but I didn’t want to bathe him in scorching hit water either. It just makes your life easier, it is good quality, cute, and once you start to fill up the water it automatically turns on and starts working. I ordered a second one as a back up incase this one gets lost or if we are traveling.

Is this an absolute must have? No. But it takes the guess work out of bath time on whether or not the water is too hot for baby. As a first time mom it’s really nice to have the validation that the water isn’t too hot for baby. It’s small and just floats in the water. It’ll flash a red light if the water is too hot.

Durable. Wish the battery lasted longer but it did its job.

We love the penguin!! Its small design is perfect for travel! It’s a quality item that is functional in any setting that requires checking the temperature. The temperature is easily readable and the color and brightness adds to the quality of the product. The only negative is that in order for it to work, you need to so the penguins feet to get it started. Overall, the price is worth it for peace of mind, no matter where you go!

This thermometer is not accurate. It measures a +- 3 degree which is a lot considering it’s for baby’s bath. We used other thermometers to check the accuracy and found out that Nuby’s Penguin thermometer is not reliable at all. At the bottom there’s an air pocket so if you just float the penguin, it would register a different temperature. If you submerge it entirely and float it back up, it gives a different reading. However the reading is still not accurate. It’s a very cute design and seems to be waterproof. Just wish it works as intended. Amazon did refunded me the item.

Reads the temperature but sometimes takes longer to adjust as the temperature changes. it does tell you I just don't appreciate that it takes as long as it does.
