I rescued a dog who is terrified of normal fur trimmers, because of the noise. I bought this in a last ditch effort to get the matting out of his fur. It works like a dream. It seems to cause him zero discomfort and his incredibly thick fur basically fell of with how sharp this razor was. Stropping between sessions was required, but I fully expected that when I set out to shave an 80lb dog. Remarkably, the razor seems to also be completely unharmed and still gains and holds a very sharp edge. Not sure what I'm going to use it for now, but this product is really well made.

I have no dislikes about this razor. This razor is a great tool for any man who loves a smooth lasting shave. Once you learn how to sharpen it, and how to use it on your face and neck, you will have a life long tool in your shaving arsenal. With a razor sharp edge that you must periodically put on the blade, you will have no bleeds. Needs sharpening out of the box. You should learn how for yourself, or pay someone to do it. I find that sharpening my straight razors is just part of having a nice shave. I encourage you to purchase a sharpening kit. This too is a life long purchase.

Bought this solely to learn more about barber style straight razors before jumping down this very expensive rabbit hole of a hobby.Knocked it one star because of the metal burrs in the heal of knife scales that poked me and left a small cut. I was able to deburr the end of the knife easily and it’s game on now!For exploring this style of shaving seems like a great way to check it out for not a lot of money.Blade was ground well, better than expected for this price point and sharp!

This is a very good razor. However, being made of stainless steel it did not come out of the box as sharp as a carbon steel model. A little work with a wet stone made it right. On the plus side, it was affordable, looks good and does not tarnish. The only negative is that since it's stainless steel, it does require frequent sharpening instead of simply using a strop.

Great blade, easy to maintain the edge and a great value buy.

About this for my husband for shaving, he loves it

The blades don't get sharp enough no matter what. I had to press hard just to get a fair shave. This is for a close shave not for cutting my skin. Don't waste your money.

I'm sure my technique needs a log of work but this is not even sharp enough to shave with. I stropped it for a while, that improved it a bit but still problematic. I looked at the edge under my carson microscope and found it to be quite rough - a bit of stropping wasn't going to cut it.So I pulled out my water stones and smoothed out the bevels. Started with the Shapton 1000 and 2000 then up to the King 6000. Stropped it about 120 times in total, starting with green polish on my Sharpal strop and finished on the super cheap strop it came with.Now much better, but still needs work. I'm going to keep this as a practice razor and buy something better. I'd suggest the only reason you consider purchasing this is for the same reason. The hinge on it is also poor quality, I'm sure it will wear out quickly. And get a better strop, this one is garbage.
