This is CALCIUM CHLORIDE- not Silica Gel.
It's important for others to know that this is not silica gel in the traditional term but this is actually a calcium chloride formula, like damprid. As this absorbs moisture it will turn into a liquid paste unlike normal silica gel that remains in the beaded form. The best part is this works very well since calcium chloride is a lot stronger at absorbing moisture from small spaces than silica gel. Would buy again

Does what it’s supposed to
Absorbs moisture well! I keep these in open containers in closets, cabinets, and bathrooms. My apartment is very humid, so these help reduce moisture in small, enclosed areas. They will not make a dramatic difference to the overall house humidity, but at least it helps with preventing mold growth inside small spaces. These absorb moisture cleanly - the resulting fluid is clear (unlike some where the solution turns yellow with impurities), and there’s no powder/dust when pouring out of the jug. Also love that these are completely odorless. The only thing to note is that any calcium chloride moisture absorber all result in very viscous fluid that doesn’t evaporate and leaves a slimy feel once it absorbs water, and the volume increases as water incorporates into the calcium chloride, so be sure not to overfill containers and leave space for the fluid to collect! Made the mistake of filling up too much before and having the liquid flow out - not a good time.

Works as well as DampRid
As I had previously bought the three pack container of DampRid small, absorber containers, I ran out of the refill beads. Instead of buying the overly priced DampRid refill beads, I bought these. They have worked as advertised and there is no difference between them and DampRid, except of course the price!

Great money saver
Works as described. You get a large size and a good storage container. The lid seals so they won’t absorb water. They have no scent to them. I use them in a walk in fridge and change my three containers out monthly now I can just refill with these.

Much better than damp rid
Next to no mess versus using damp rid refills. I use this in the bathroom, closets, a couple kitchen cabinets where I keep dry goods. These also absorb way more efficiently, leaving me with a lot less unused media after a month or twoContainers are also shaped nicely and not bulky so easier to store, unlike damp rid. I do like the little damp rid buckets though for refilling purposes. As well as the 4lb tub,I think cost wise it's about equivalent if not a little more expensive than Damp Rid. I don't mind, as it works far better and less mess.
