it is a fabulous and helpful book for economic maths.

Great book for economics degree

The book has thought me a great deal and the layout makes sense. However, they need to stop making references to previous sections in exercises when they could just say the exercise and save me time; they also need to improve the accuracy of the answers to the exercises.They should to more effort into explaining their theorems in an understandable way instead of only caring about being technically correct. I can rarely understand their proofs in the appendix but maybe I should just accept them. I once found a simpler derivation online than what was in the book, however this was rare most the time the book explained things (outside of the appendix) in a clear complete and understandable way. I have not compared it to other books and the material is very good.

I had to purchase this textbook for my course at UCL. It is a terrible textbook. The book is unnecessarily wordy and has very few worked examples. The book also lacks exercises that would be helpful in order to understand what you have learnt. If possible choose another textbook or look at online resources. Overall a very disappointing book. The textbook provides comprehensive content, covering a broad scope of topics in depth. However, the explanations can be a bit wordy, making it slightly challenging for non-native speakers.The overall quality and richness of content make it a recommendable resource for economics students.
