The belt on my Amana dryer kept breaking. This motor pulley was the culprit. Easy fix!

If your dryer belt keeps breaking it's probably because this motor pully needs to be replaced. It was hard for me to believe that this metal part would wear out but it does. The part of it that the belt rides on had worn down to the size of a pencil and developed a sharp edge so was shredding every belt I put on in a couple months. It was easy to replace using a couple wrenches and solved an ongoing problem with my dryer.

In this instance, you get what you pay for. I purchased this product in case I couldn't get a genuine part form my local repair store.The part at my local repair store was priced around $40 and this one was only $10.So before I installed either part, I decided to wait until both were in hand to compare them.I can honestly say the original part was heavier and thicker and matched the threading perfectly compared to the broken old part.It's evident that this product is a cheap replacement that would wear down quickly and break more readily than if you bought a genuine OEM part.

Fits fine, i used a few of the belts they sell here on amazon, don’t waste your money on those weak belts. That pulley held strong with a belt i bought from local store, it was brown expensive but look what it did to this flimsy pulley.Bought it in late march is late august, only to put it in perspective for lifespan, I’m committed now bought a new dryer and use this one to train kids to do their laundry, for now this will do till winter comes or kids don’t load to much clothes in the thing, who knows what they do.It’ll get you by and is better than buying the whole motor that comes with it. But beware it’ll break eventually, material is not that strong Metal advertised, aluminum maybe, cast iron doubt it…Keep loads medium size might live longer.
