a good read for tennis fans with some important messages
I admire anyone that can write a thought through, well-constructed, book and especially someone, like Judy Murray, who's already a super talent in a different field. I am also a massive tennis fan (especially of (her) son Andy) - both as a player and spectator - so had no option but to buy Wild Card! In summary, I enjoyed it. It is amusing at times although sometimes a bit too comical (for example Liv's break-dance celebrations - would she even be allowed to do this at Wimbledon?? But Judy will know better than me!) and a little predictable. But I like the overall message of never giving up hope and some of the issues (with coaches) that it highlights.

Brilliant storytelling
Great story . Thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their tennis world. For a first novel this was an easy read and very hard to put down. I found myself enjoying every chapter in binge mode.

An enjoyable read with good characters and interesting storyline
I admit, I got the book out of curiosity as it’s not at all the sort of book I usually read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a good read, entertaining and gave a great inside view of the tennis scene . Yet there was a seriousness, in showing how people can be manipulated as Abigail was by her tennis coach and the enormous effects it had, haunting her for years. And in the end it was quite uplifting.Judy Murray has turned her hand successfully to something very different. She is a woman of many talents.
