Kuhn Rikon Original Swiss Peeler

Works unbelievably well. I have much more expensive peelers, but this is the one I reach for. I haven't had it yet to comment on durability, but its peeling ability and sharpness are excellent. It's very comfortable to use.

I've used this peeler almost daily for six years, and it is still extremely sharp. No rust, either! The thing is, this is not stainless steel, it's carbon steel. Carbon steel rusts in contact with water. You absolutely cannot let it sit in water, and do not put it in the dishwasher under any circumstances. Wash and dry it after every use. Or if you're like me, rinse it and let it sit and dry on the counter before washing it and drying it. If you chuck it into your sink or dishwasher and let it sit with water on it, it's going to rust quickly. Take care of it properly and it will last a long, long time.

Love these speed peelers, though I just realized I need to get more because this previous one got rusty pretty quick. That's on me for not taking better care of it. Good thing they are inexpensive.

Not too bad. Not as good as the OXO Y-peeler, but their quality has gotten very poor, so I'm trying this one. It' has less handle and isn't as wide as the OXO and it doesn't have a blade cover, which really should be necessary to keep the blade from getting damaged in the drawer. For almost the same price as the OXO it's disappointing. But....it does work and it is sharp.

Easy to handle and very sharp, so the task of peeling is very fast. Just be sure to dry the carbon steel blade after each use to prevent rusting. I've bought multiple Kuhn Rikon peelers for myself and family and friends. They agree that it's the best!

Great peeler with a carbon steel blade. It will never rust! The plastic handle has been no issue for me & it fits my hand comfortably. I would definitely recommend & buy this, again. Recommended by as the best peeler by America’s Test Kitchen….it’s a great one!

This was recommended by the America Test Kitchen, which is why I bought it. It works exactly as they showed it on TV. Good quality, good grip and easy to clean, it is dishwasher safe.

I wanted to love the KUHN RIKON Swiss Peeler after reading so many great reviews, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations or the hype. While the blade is sharp at first, it isn't extra special and seems to dull pretty quickly after a few uses.The lightweight design is nice, but it almost feels too flimsy, especially when working with tougher vegetables. Also, the handle isn’t very ergonomic—after a bit of peeling, it made my hand cramp.What surprised me, though, was how quickly it rusted. I always hand-washed and dried it right away, but within a couple of weeks, I noticed rust spots forming on the blade. For a peeler that gets such glowing reviews, that was a major letdown. It’s not terrible, but for the price and the reputation, I expected something more durable and comfortable. Strangely enough, it has since mysteriously vanished from my kitchen—possibly spirited away by someone who believed in second chances… or by my trash can.
