Best Solar Pump!
This pump worked for about 4 weeks then stopped working. We checked if it was clogged. My husband played with it off and on and it worked and then stopped. We weres outside the return window by two weeks. The Seller contacted me and said they would send out another pump kit so we could determine if it was the solar panel or the pump. We installed it again and the pump is as strong as can be! It is working great in our fountain! This Seller not only cares about the products they sell, they care about the customer. I was shocked they contacted me instead of the other way around. This is a wonderful solar pump that pushes out a strong water flow. It works great. I highly recommend this product and this Seller, Lewisia!

Oh how I loved this fountain
Oh how I loved this fountain! We put the solar panel on the roof and it was working a good part of the day. So much better then the one we replaced. Then 5 days later it stopped working.... I haven’t tried anything to fix it but I’m not very handy. I’ll let you know what happens in a couple of days. Two days later....I couldn’t get in to the pump so just shook it a few times. I went up on the roof and moved the solar panel a tiny bit and low and behold it’s working again. What I did, I’m not sure...A week later...It stopped working again! I am not pleased at all!!!

Requires FULL Sunlight Exposure
Got this for a small waterfall in front of my home. The pump works quite well, lifts at least 3 feet with great flow. The solar panel, on the other hand, is a disappointment. It ONLY supplies power when the panel is in full, direct sunlight. Even a partial shading (1/4 coverage) stops supplying power to the pump. Luckily, I have a place to mount the panel where it will receive more sunlight, but for the moment I have the panel sitting alongside the waterfall, so it only works for a couple hours. If you have full sun exposure for a long period, this will work well. However, if you have a lot of potential shade areas, I would not suggest this model of solar panel.

Very rugged pump
This is an outstanding pump in all respects: It has a high lifting capacity, it moves a good volume of pond water, and - above all - it is very ruggedly designed. By accident, the return tube from the pump in our pond came loose from an upper basin and the pump emptied the all the pond water onto the ground. We last checked it a week before, and came back to top it up again when to our horror there was the pump running dry and noisily in the bottom of the empty pond, a situation that would burn up most small pumps like this. After I quickly fixed the loose hose and refilled the pond again, the pump worked normally, to my amazement. I have no idea how many days the pump ran without water - could have been several or could have happened that very day that I came to check on it. I highly recommend this pump and solar panel combo. 5 stars is not enough!

Works great when in full sun
I was unable to run electric from my home to my new pond so this was the perfect solution. The pump works well and when the sun is hitting the solar panel square on it really looks great. The only down fall is that it has a really hard time pumping when only part of the solar panel is in sun, I almost wish it had a battery back up. The other con is that the part of the pond I have the fountain in is only about 10 inches deep but with all of the extensions used it barely makes it above the water line. If you have a deeper pond I would recommend buying extra pump extensions to get the water flowing above the surface.

Works great with a fountain statue
The media could not be loaded. We had an opportunity to get a fountain statue from a relative who no longer wanted it. It had been through years of neglect and was in pieces. We cleaned it up and decided to get a solar pump for it that was able to push water up the height of the statue - I would estimate about three feet from the pump to the water outlet. The solar pump was perfect (see video for volume of water flow) and the water flow is amazing. We are extremely pleased with the solar pump kit and love the peaceful sound of the water. I would recommend the pump kit to others with a similar application. Note that the kit is solar powered without a battery so it will just work on sunny days when the solar panel is in the sun. Which is perfect for our application. I would recommend to others.

Read Reviews Carefully-Believe Them!
I carefully read the description and reviews before purchase. It seemed as though it would work for my purpose. I bought this model 10W, rather than the 5W. It claims to move 563 gal/h.I wanted to use this pump to circulate water to my waterfall/filter.The first problem I encountered is that this pump uses 3/8" tubing. That's an uncommon size for this application.. It also doesnt allow much water volume. It is next to impossible to find adaptors for 3/8" to any reasonable size.By far the biggest problem is the solar aspect. The other reviews are not exaggerating when they say THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES BRIGHT, FULL, BLAZING SUN TO FUNCTION. I mean not a touch of shade, not a cloud in the sky, not a single shadow or it won't work. This pump won't work unless you live in the Deep South (I do) or a desert. It is not suitable for anything that requires constant, reliable, uninterrupted flow. You should still have some other pump on hand as a back up.I actually move the solar panel around my pond as the sun moves to make it work.UPDATE: I ended up returning it as it just wasn't adequate for my needs. I bought a more powerful pump which works wonderfully.

Better than expected
I needed a solar pump to use for filtering as I don’t have electricity nearby. This is a fountain but by buying additional parts and tubing the pump is in a filter box and I have a splitter running two tubes as a waterfall. Well, more like a dribble fall but I have a very small water feature. Yes, I had to buy parts I didn’t need or will use but cheaper than running electrical! I do wish there was the ability to attach another panel. However, it works, even if a bit overcast. Total clouds, it won’t but I was surprised how well it worked with even a little sun and the pump moves water better than expected. Longevity is yet to be determined.
