Is this better than normal synthetic brush?

This is for laying off. If you paint a door using a mini roller it usually leaves a ripple effect. So this brush is lightly used after the paint has already been applied from bottom of door to top to remove the ripple effect.

How this brush doing with oil based paints?

Well I use it to smooth out water based paints that can be patchy and also remove drag marks....I don't think you really need it for oil based paints as they tend to give a good smooth finish without any need for this flattening brush
