This sound machine is crazy-easy to use and comes with a nice variety of soothing sounds to peruse. First, the on-off switch is big, protruding, and easy to use -- just push it. Second, the different types of sounds are all listed on the top of the machine, each with its own label and button (other sound machines I've tried require pressing a single button over and over to get to its various sounds -- not difficult, but not as easy to accomplish as with this machine). Third, it comes with a few sounds that are not included on other sound machines, like meditate and chimes. And finally, it doesn't take up much space. Dislikes? Neither the on-off button nor the various sound buttons light up when the machine is on, and the it is a bit more on the expensive side. Still, I'd highly recommend.

Good noise machine. Quality sems good. I can actually sleep now. Plug in is easy and works as it should. The light level is so good i can sleep forever. Button dont get stuck but i do wish there was a longer cable for it

Y'all, my husband snores. I love him dearly, but oh boy. I have depended on a tower fan for years to soften the sound. Once we got a dog that snored too, I needed the fan on relatively high to block it enough. One day, my fan died. I started shopping around for a new fan, but these days, they all advertise how quiet they are! I heard Marpac was a great brand for white noise machines so I looked into their models. I really like the features on this one. It has multiple sounds and the volume is easily adjustable. When you turn it on, it goes right to the last sound and volume you had it set on, so there's no fiddling around with it at bedtime. I love white noise 2 for sleeping, the ocean sounds for reading in my room or a bubble bath, and sometimes even the chimes for a little meditation (still learning). It's visually unobtrusive. For the features, it's a great deal. There is no audible looping on the sounds - constant and smooth. The first night I used it, I thought "gosh, I don't know if I can sleep with this sound," and then suddenly it was morning. It was incredible. My brain focuses on the white noise and I don't hear the snoring or anything else going on in the house if I need to sleep at odd hours. It doesn't rely on sheer volume though, so someone can still talk to me or the dogs can whine to go out and I'll hear it easily enough to respond.

I have used Marpac for over 25 years, always depend on it. This is an amazing replacement. To change sound, you hit a button on top, to change volume, you hit a button on top. To turn on/off, you hit a button the side. The design is well thought out so you don't hit any button by accident in the middle of night. I was not expecting to like the "yoga" sounds as much as I do and of course the white noise sound is very real, not "tinny". I bought a 2nd one to put in our common area to play background sounds. Very peaceful and relaxing.

UPDATE: While I was unhappy with the length of the cord as noted in original review, I really grew to love this noise machine. The sounds were nice with great clarity and volume. Because the cord was so short the machine was never moved or touched other than to turn on or off. No unplugging or moving at all I say WAS because within 2 months it died and would not turn on. Of course as typical out of return period. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS. BUYER BEWAREI'm divided on how I feel about this little machine. On the positive there is a large number of sounds and they are loud and clear and loop is not noticeable. I was surprised with how compact it is and that actually is a good thing. What is not good at all is how short the cord is. It barely reaches from the wall outlet to the night stand. It has a micro plug and I don't have any of those on hand, Also had to supply the plug which means unplugging the cord from my cellphone charger to use. If I want to turn it off or change sound the device is not within arm reach from bed. The sound level button is hard to locate and not clearly marked. Once it's setup and if I don't want to change sound or volume level it's a nice little machine. Because I have come to like the meditation track I will keep this but wish the cord was longer and volume button was more user friendly. I can see that for a baby nursery or other location where access is not an issue that it would be great.

So, I cannot sleep in complete silence. I have always just used a box fan. Well, this little machine is a game changer when it’s winter and cold! I set it to Doha 4 and it gives just about the same sound as the fan. I set it up where my fan usually sits so the the noise would be coming from that same direction. I am so impressed. It actually works. I am able to sleep just like I did before without having the cold air blowing on me. I love it, and can’t sing enough praises about this.
