So far, I'm at about 72 hours since I setup the tank, hatching rates are significantly higher than in any Sea Monkeys I've ever hatched. The LED volcano is a nice touch that allows for greater visibility especially during the life stages 24 -36 hours after watching. I was a little sceptical spending a lot more on an Aqua Dragons kit than a Sea Monkeys kit but I'm definitely a believer now.Edited on day 10: So far the colony, for lack of a better description, is thriving. The Dragons are about halfway to full maturity at this point and are lively. In natural lighting conditions they've started picking up the red coloration from the food. They're a little harder to see in full light compared to using the volcano alone so I'll upload a quick volcano lit picture. My only complaint about the kit, and it's not a big deal by any standard, is that the batteries are a little hard to change easily while the tank is use and full. I found out when I left the volcano light on for 2 days by accident. A USB based power supply for the tank would be an awesome addition but marginally drive the cost of the kit up.

Kids loved these. Easy to set up for the kids, cheap educational fun that had the kids looking forwards to learning something new, small enough to not be annoying and in the way and the volcano was cute in my boys room

Followed instructions nd never grew, even bought another pack of sea dragons, still didnt work. Wish I got money back!

The media could not be loaded. We are beyond ecstatic with this kit. My son has begged for a pet or fish tank in his room but already have cats so our options were limited. He got this for Christmas 2024 and immediately followed the directions. Within days he could see his dragons swimming around. It's now March 3 months to the day and we have watched the life cycle and were preparing for the last 6 or 8 to die as we could see their eggs and the directions say to let them die them let the water evaporate and start all over but today exactly 3 months from starting it we still have 6 adults with eggs on them and hundreds of the next generation zipping around. He has taken excellant care of them and his hard work has paid off. I highly recommend this kit if you are diligent with care and follow directions it will be a blast! I had even prepared for failure and bought the extra kit of food and eggs at Christmas but it was not needed, the key is to follow the directions!

I like the design of this toy, I think its well made and could be used again. However, our dragons either didn't hatch or died. I would try it again with some new "dragons".

Easier than sea monkeys when it comes to hatching. Healthy fast growing critters, easy to take care of, of course I do more than the average consumer to keep my critters alive like use air pumps and small heaters if needed but can easily survive without as long as you monitor their water clarity, temp, and don't over feed. It's all explained in their booklet on basic care. Great for kids and adults.
