Performs far better than competition for an unbeatable price
The Airzeen is very well designed. Comparing it with am iRobot-692 that I had for a few weeks, a brand that seems to be the standard in the US market, this device has many advantages for a reasonable price point. At the time of this review, 3rd of Jan 2025, the Airzeen device costs $ 105 on Amazon, while the iRobot 692, an inferior alternative as I will describe from firsthand experience below, is selling for $280 or over 2.5 times more than the Airzeen.Airzeen benefits from a number of seemingly small design elements that come together to make a big difference in the value you get from your investment:Airzeen features wide rotating brushes on both sides of the device. The longer arm of the brushes is particularly important. This feature allows the vacuum to grab the dirt from the edges of the furniture legs sending them into the suction part and the corners, a place the larger device won’t fit. iRobot 692’s single brush fails to adequately clean the edges.Airzeen’s powerful suction means you don't have to clean up the internals of the device as you constantly have to with an iRobot. The iRobot required me to vacuum clean its passage ways with a hand held vacuum otherwise it would effectively cease to function.Airzeen is by far quieter while operating. It bangs against obstacles a lot more gently than any iRobot I have owned and avoids head on collision whereas the 692 puts the SLAM into the VSlam technology. I ended up having to repaint the black marks the 692 left on my baseboards after only a couple of uses.Between the powerful suction and double brush function the Airzeen simply cleans better than the iRobot ever did.Airzeen’s dust bin is very easy to remove and the filter is well placed. Airzeen’s dust bin is also larger and has a small spring backed lid that prevents the dust from flying all over until you are ready to empty it up.Airzeen’s full function remote control is a great addition, pretty much eliminating the need for the app. One is likely better off using the remote at all times.Let us remember that these devices are at the entry point of both manufacturers’ product range. Both devices find their way around through hitting objects, however, you have control over the patterns with the Airzeen whereas the iRobot is totally random. In summary:If you are looking for a basic device to run around and clean up while you do other things, be relatively quiet, do a far better job than its leading competitor, the Airzeen is a great vacuum cleaner for your purpose and especially the price point.

Great so far!
I’ve had several of the iRobots before. I wasn’t sure what to expect with an off brand. But, after the first use, I say I’m quite pleased with the effectiveness of this cleaner and the best part is that it is a very reasonable price.

It does an ok job on hard floors and very good for pet hair overall.
The instructions are terrible. In general, it doesn't clean very well on carpets, but it does manage to get pet hair reliably.Pros:- Low cost- Works well on hard floors- It does pick up pet hair, even on carpets- It can vacuum under most beds- It can run on a schedule- It works with a phone app, remote control, or Alexa- It can return to the charging station to recharge- Works best in random pattern modeCons:- It doesn't clean very well on carpets, even when going over the same area repeatedly- It does not map your rooms so it cannot be told to clean a specific room or area- It often can get stuck- If it gets too far away from the charger it cannot find it- When in edge cleaning mode it will tend to keep circling the coffee table or other item in the middle of the room, and never vaccuum the edges of the room along the wall. When trying to set this up I had difficultly and found the instructions to be indecipherable. You have to guess what they are trying to say. Also they leave out important details like how to correctly install and secure the brushes. They also don't tell you where the filter goes, or the fact that it already has one installed. It turns out the filter is in the dust bin, but there is no instruction on how to remove the dust bin so you have to wing it.So after getting it to work I have to say I was very disappointed in it's ability to clean. It does pick up some things like pet hair which was good, but on low pile carpetting less than 0.3 inches, it could not pick up kitty litter. I even positioned it directly in front of a few grains of kitty litter, and it went right over it and picked up nothing. This wasn't a lot of kitty litter miind you, it was only about 5 grains, and they were not imbedded into the carpet; they were loose and on top of the carpet pile. I made sure the unit was in high power vacuum mode, and told it to spot clean which makes it go over the same area again and again. It just didn't pick up the dirt. It did pick up pet hair and small bits of paper, and it was able to make many passes under the bed where I don't normally vacuum.Another feature that it is supposed to have is the ability to return to it's charging station. This only works if the R7 is close to it's charging station, meaning in the same room. When it is in a different room than the charging station, it wanders around and never makes it back. It seems to look for a signal from the charging station, and the range of that signal is extremely short. So basically the return to charging station feature works as poorly as it's ability to clean. The Airzeen R7 works good enough on hard floors, but on carpetting you can just forget this unit. It's very poor on carpetting, including low pile carpet. I bought this unit because of high customer reviews and consumer product testing reviews. However, my experience was not good because it didn't clean very well. I would not recommend this unit to others unless you only plan to use it on hard floors.-----------Update 17-Nov-2024I have now placed this unit in my downstairs area which has an open concept floor plan, and it is about 60 percent hard floors and 40 percent carpetting. I have it scheduled to run every afternoon, and for the last two weeks it's been working well. It gets stuck about 20 percent of the time in one area, but mostly it's been able to get back to it's charging station ok.It's nice to have this run every day, and I have noticed the floor and carpetting look much better than before I got the unit. So overall, it's good if you put it in a space where it can be successful, which is a simple floor plan and mostly hard floors.
