The buckle kept detaching because it's not actually attached to the belt itself
The buckle has a similar 'fold over pinch' mechanism to fasten around the canvas of the belt. So it would undo itself sometimes. I chucked the belt away after a few days. Spend more and get something better.

Cheap but decent belt for less than a fiver what more can you ask for. This was an emergency purchase as I was away from home and needed something in a hurry.
