With electricity costs going through the roof I was concerned that our family favourite winter stews wouldn’t be possible as I didn’t fancy running the oven for a few hours, my mum suggested a pressure cooker to get similar results in greatly reduced time. I looked at traditional hob top pots and then saw this IP Duo nova on offer for a comparable sum so went for it. In a nutshell it is brilliant, stews, casseroles, soups, mashed potato! No problem. You can sauté meats/veg and then throw in stock and whatever extras and boom it’s done in minutes. I love the delay function, I prep the evening meal at lunchtime, set the delay time so it cooks it ready for later on in the evening, brilliant. Chicken & bean stew done in 15 mins, beef stew 25mim (note it does take a few mins to get up to pressure and also to release in addition but still unbelievable quick). Their is an IP app with lots of recipes, but I’ve used these mainly to get the cooking times for my own recipes. One slight difference is that you thicken sauces after cooking, but that’s no hassle.Simple to use, super quick, food tastes just as good, one pot to clean. Brilliant.

This product is good only let down by no instructions or recipes, by instructions I mean as in general regarding foods. However there is an instant pot recipes on line affair, but this is all geared up to Americanised ingredients, ie. what the hell is a cup of cheese? etc. However if you can bypass that and the fact that heating up time isn't included in the, "Do a stew in 25 mins", which you actually can't, it is a lot faster, I did braised steak which was ready in about 45 mins as opposed to 2hr 45mins, start to finish. Bolognese start to finish which would take at least 2hours total, and yes harsh gas/electric bills are coming but with this if you can shave at least half the time off what you would do in an oven then it is worth it. Not gotten to grips with all the functionality of it as yet but the above two albeit a tad runny where the sauce was concerned but rectified by a saute function and cornflour gives equally adequate energy saving and tasty results.

I bought this after watching TONS of youtube videos about how great these cookers are. I am used to cooking stews etc on the Hob, which can easily take 2.5-3 hours of cooking time. I liked the idea of being able to cook in one pot, save on washing up etc. I have only owned this for a fortnight, but am actually enjoying using it. The picture I shared is of a simple beef stew that took literally 30 mins to cook. The stew thickened even more the longer it was left, though I did enjoy some as soon as it was ready.The device is very simple to use, I didn't bother with the instructions as there are so many videos/ channels out there with 1000s of ideas/recipes. Start simple and get good results. I haven't tried all features at the time of writing, but am delighted with the results of the meals i've made so far. The food is perfectly cooked and the time saved means I can cook a large meal in quick time, literally dumping things in . switching on and getting on with my day. The "keep warm" feature means you can go out and return home to a nice hot meal, rather than having to cook in an evening. The cooking pot and lid are both dishwasher friendly, though i simple rinse the lid and rubber seal after use. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to cut down on dishes, save a lot of cooking time, and and make 4 (greedy) or 6 regular portions of food. Please take my advice and check youtube for some great and simple recipes. I have suddenly found myself buying more vegetables and ingredients, rather than ready meals to microwave.One tip: the Cooker comes with a rubber seal ( a clear one ALREADY fitted). I was confused how to fit the red one which comes in the box. This is infact a SPARE so can be safely placed in a drawer for future use. It seems this red rubber seal puzzled many people, as the instructions did not mention one was already fitted!

I love this instant pot!!! I use it for many recipes which I get from YouTube. It makes great fluffy coconut rice and creamy mash potatoes . It is so easy to use!!! I am a basic cook but this makes everything I like to eat and it is super quick as well. Wish I had one years ago.
