Great Value & Works Perfectly for My CAT 6 Upgrade
I needed an RJ45 crimp tool ASAP since my local stores didn’t carry anything like this. I was upgrading my home network from CAT 4 to CAT 6 and had to cut the ends of my new CAT 6 cable to fit it through the holes in my house. After debating between this and the Klein crimp tool, I went with this one due to its value and the included Ethernet tester.I purchased a CAT 6 cable from Best Buy and needed to make the other end work for my TP-Link device. This tool made the job easy, and the crimps were solid every time. The Ethernet tester (which requires a 9V battery) was a great addition—it ensured my cables were properly connected before I plugged them in.Now, I can enjoy fast 1GB speeds! For the price, this tool is well worth it, and I’m happy to say it did its job perfectly. I can confidently say it will continue to do so. Highly recommended!(Quick note, make sure the screw that says 8P is lowered if using CAT 6 or below!)

It's everything you need
Has everything you need. Recieved the ethernet boots, the ethernet jacks, cutter, stripper, crimping tool, and the tester. Be sure to have a 9v battery on hand, clearly stated it does not come with one.Everything works as it should. Many will say it's not a pro tool. If that is the case, it works perfectly for the home owner. You get soo much more for your money, and they all work. Beware that the cable boots for the jacks are a little stiff. If you are not careful, you can break the RJ45 jack when removing the cable from a plug/socket.I bought this kit to install a home network. It works flawlessly. The directions are understandable and very clear even when it has one or two flaws in the English writing.

Not as easy as it looks
Not as easy as it seemed. It would have been nice if the channels in the ends would have been longer. I'm sure with practice I would be faster, but it took me a while to get the one done that I needed. Being able to push the wires through is nice to get a snug fit on the crimp. The problem is getting all eight wires, in the correct order, in place, this is where longer channels would have been helpful. I found that getting the pairs on the sides first and then the four in the center worked best. Again, something that will improve with practice. One the plus side, once it was crimped and in place it worked great.Normally I purchase cables, but I had a couple of cables that are run and it is easier to replace an end than to replace the cable. Plus it never hurts to have the tool when you can't wait for the parts.

Should Have Bought This Sooner
I purchased this to replace an older non-Pass Through Crimp Tool. All I can say is that I should have purchased one long ago. This tool makes it so easy and effortless to crimp an end onto a CAT5/6 cable without any mistakes. Without a Pass Through connector, you have to get the length of the wires exactly right, the ends of the wires even, get them into the connector, verify that the order has not changed, and then crimp hoping that it does not move from the end of the connector. While doable, there are times that they are slightly off and the crimp does not pully penetrate the wire. Not with this tool, you can strip back 1.5-2in of sheathing (which makes it easy to separate the wires), separate them into the T568A or T568B configuration, and insert them into the connector. Once in the connector, you can easily see if the order is correct and push the wire all the way in, insert it into the crimp tool, and crimp/cut all at one time. When I finished the first one, I said out loud, I should have bought this sooner. I was able to do three newly run cables (both ends) in a few minutes without any issues in the crimps. They all tested perfectly. The last set I did with the old tool I had to re-crimp one end as it did not take correctly. The tool is well built and solid. The one side shows the standard colors for the T568A or T568B configurations, which is helpful for those that do not have it memorized. You can see in the pictures that it is a clean and solid crimp on the connector. I pulled back the strain relief boot so it could be clearly seen.Even if you only do CAT 5/6 cables occasionally, it is worth every penny for no frustration trying to get the connector in place. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone doing their own cable ends.
