Replace the stock with these. No qualms yet.
There are many reviews where people feel as if these aren’t that great compared to stock or introduce new issues with low ends and such. I’m going to try and be clear. The situation for my car2015 Subaru Crosstrek Limited with Premium features but not actually limited- 6 speaker stock Subaru system, two tweeters, two front and two rear.I am an audiophile. I blew both rear speakers unintentionally and decided to give Subarus Kicker upgrade a try. I did plenty of research and I’ll be honest, I’ve never had my preferred level of luck with aftermarket other than overkill lows and sacrifice in good tuning of all High Mid and Low ranges. Since I don’t really have time to tinker, the Subaru drop in upgrade made sense. I didn’t get the Tweeter upgrade yet, but I will now. Dropped all speakers in, spending about an hour and 45 minutes. I reset my EQ, let the speakers play loudly for a bit to break them in and then started tweaking.Pros:- I didn’t experience any muddy areas that others talked about. High to low freqs were clean- The higher wattage opens up the factory system and the Sound Level feature is more noticeable and impactful. I typically don’t use it when I have my sound tuned but it’s better.- Zero distortion because likely the head unit can not push these hard enough but that allows pretty aggressive play in the EQ.- I hate drilling fresh holes so just dropping in is easy.- Already has dampening foam on the edges where it contacts with the door. Easy- Clarity is a no brainer from stock. If you don’t hear it, you may have a bad set, connection or head unit.- The LOW end is clear, clean and present. I was going to put this as a con because my car wasn’t shaking from the low end but this really is unattractive to me and I like clean, non-rattling cars.Cons- if you need instructions, you won’t get them.- I’m still not sure yet if the price is worth it but basically $50 a speaker. It honestly sounds better than any $100 speaker set I’ve had but yes, it may appear spendier than expected.TL:DR - It’s worth the upgrade for the ease, tuning and compatibility. People need to take their expectations and most people who talk audio, don’t understand it. As long as your head unit and connections are good and you don’t get a lemon, this is worth the upgrade, plenty of power, range and bright highs.

Perfect upgrade for the price.
Great sound for price and can't beat how easy they were to install. Really can't get any easier. Very happy with purchase. Would highly recommend.

2018 STI FITMENT
This is not a bad review. This is a review to notify anyone looking at this replacement speaker. It does not connect directly to the STI 2015-2018. Thank you for the great support and excepting the return.

Good speakers, easy install, very little bass (expect to buy a subwoofer with these)
This is a very good upgrade to the stock sound system with OEM compatibility making installation utterly simple (various install videos on YouTube, follow along step by step and truly anyone can do it).My one complaint is that the speakers are very apparently designed with the OEM Kicker subwoofer in mind and produce less bass than the stock system. While the sound is much improved, the bass output is less than what the stock speakers are capable of.The Kicker system is worth it, but I would strongly recommend you get a small subwoofer with it. I’ll probably have to add a hideaway sub to balance the sound properly. The reason this is mentionable to the average consumer who is not an audiophile is because these speakers, sold as a direct upgrade, absolutely output less bass than the stock speakers. This is not immediately knowable from any easily found information about this system, unless you dive in and read anecdotes on forums where it’s frequently mentioned. And importantly, I was satisfied with the level of bass from the stock speakers. The stock speakers with Bass EQ set to 1-2 is about equivalent to these Kicker speakers with the Bass EQ maxed out. It’s something that anyone purchasing these should consider or you may experience a degree of disappointment if you were trying to avoid adding a subwoofer (which is annoying and takes up valuable space).

Good quality speakers with easy plug and play installation
These are way better than the stock 2020 Wrx speakers. Easy to install since it was literally plug and play. Sounds good and clear. Definitely recommend it

It is not "plug and play"! Be ready to splice these to make them work.
I bought these for my 2016 Subaru WRX after one of the factory front speakers suddenly stopped working. I'd heard good things about this Kicker 4 speaker kit from other owners and that it was "super easy" to install, especially since these are available as an OEM factory option that *should* plug right in. That has not been my experience. It was obvious the new speakers use a connector type incompatible with factory wiring because they are easliy twice the size of the factory speaker connectors and not even close to matching. Kit also did not include any adapters either. I've called Kicker and while they really tried to help, they said it's likely Subaru has used a proprietary connector style but they were equally baffled as to why Kickers made for subaru speakers don't include the correct connectors. Also spoke with Crutchfield and they echoed everything Kicker said. Really not smart for Subaru to sell speakers meant for a Subaru but with no way to connect them unless you manually splice into it. Had these truly been plug 'n play out of the box, I would have all four installed in under an hour.

Legit plug n play for 2017 WRX
I read a review that said this was not as simple as it says. They are not correct. Perhaps they don't have a 15+ WRX. Took less than an hour to swap stock to this. Sounds great
