A great cup of coffee book. You don't have to worry about losing your place and will definitively finish your beverage with a smile if not an outright laugh. Have shown it to many people, all of whom want to borrow it when I finish with it. Makes a great conversation starter as everyone is curious once they see the title.

I love this book! I have one myself and I bought it for Secret Santa for last 2 Christmases and people loved it :)

英語のsarcasm(皮肉・風刺）辞典である。引く辞典というより拾い読みして楽しむ辞典である。一例を挙げるとelevatorは「二人（以上の人）がたまたま乗り合わせた時に気まずい沈黙を引き出す乗り物」と定義されている。評者は壁を向いて立つことが多いのであまり気まずい思いをしたことがないが、たまたま両者が壁を背に立っていると確かに気まずい｡　鋭い観察である。もう一例。Yahooは 「Googleと並ぶ検索エンジンであるが、動詞としてはぎこちなく使われない。それでも避けて通れないので、I yahooed myself last weekend.(私は先週の週末私自身をヤフー検索した)とも言えるが、I googled myself last weekend,（私は先週の週末私自身をグーグル検索した）とは響きが違う」。ちなみにGoogle （グーグルする）の動詞用法は一部の辞書にもすでに出ている。動詞用法で差がついたのは、評書の個人的意見では英語のネイティブスピーカーの多くはYahoo は「ヤッホー」という呼びかけよりも『ガリバー旅行記』に出てくる「ヤフー」（人間のかたちをした獣）を連想するせいかとも思う）。一ひねりも二ひねりもしているので、読んでも意味が理解できない定義も少なくない。そのような場合は英語力の不足とあきらめて、わかる箇所だけ拾い読みして行けばよい。読んで楽しい辞書である。

Gave this to my son as a present and he keeps reading it and chuckling to himself - if it can keep a teenager happy then it must be a good read. Haven't looked at it myself but when he finally puts it down I'll have a look.
