Cheap and quality performing modification!!!
Perfect alternative to the expensive ones! This one fit perfectly and sounds great when installed. Installation was easy enough but dont rely on the directions because they are trash! Lucky thats the only thing trash about this product, if you know even the slightest about cars and you can remove the stock filter then you can install this one. Its straight bolt on and no parts needed just make sure you have tools though! I have a throttle spacer on my Civic and I just needed to trim the rubber hose and that was the only modification that I needed to do because of my setup. The performance is noticeable as the car seems a bit more responsive and pulls a lot harder when the VTEC kick in. Really though I just think the sound that it makes makes me feel like im going faster lol.. The sound is great!! It has a nice throaty sound and when the VTEC kicks in it really roars. For a cheap modification then pick this up and you will not regret it.

Good product, good deal.
I ordered this intake because I did not particularly want to drop a lot of cash on a more expensive intake. So I read the reviews and said sure why not it's a good price. I looked up an install video on YouTube, very straight forward, I installed this on my 08 civic si in a little over an hour. The biggest pain was taking the old intake out. After that the hoses and are pretty simple to connect just keep the old stock clips to use. I had to cut the elbowing connecting tube to the trottle body because I have a throttle body spacer which is 1" which made it semi difficult for the rest, which is why I cut about 1" of the tuning. Simple, easy, great deal, just know the code to rest your radio since you have to disconnect your battery. Also make sure you have some coolant on hand because you might lose some if your engine is still warm when you start the process. And very good growl sound in vtec, my tires chirp when I shift all the through 3rd gear now. Very nice.

Watch Youtube video - printed instructions are a bit confusing
Purchased this for a California compliant solution to an existing air intake that was not compliant. This one wasn't too bad to install once I found a video online that went through the installation step by step. Sounds great and adds a performance boost and most importantly allowed the Civic SI to pass the smog test here in CA.

Top quality short ram intake, for MUCH less money!
I was very skeptical about ordering this intake. There is not a lot of information about it for our 8th gen Civic Si. However, after recently installing it, I must say that the fit and finish are top notch. It's similar in quality to AEM, Takeda, Injen, etc In my opinion, if you are looking for a short ram, why spend more money? It was a pretty easy install, but I used the Injen short ram intake instructions, which you can find on their website. The DC sports instructions included suck. It's basically telling you "Hey, but that part on, hook that thing there. you'll figure it out" No pictures or anything. One piece of advice, I would order some more Honda coolant, because you will lose quite a bit with this installation. Make sure to let your car cool down for a few hours if you can, otherwise coolant will spray you in the face when you pop off the coolant line (ask me how I know)I really like the design of the filter, it has a velocity stack style inlet, with a cone shape on the other end. It looks like a similar design to Apex'i air filter. It was a bit of a squeeze to get the old factory hose clamps on, but they do work just fine.I should mention that I am using a Hondata Flash pro(using the password JDM tune works great). I had no issues, and the AFRs stayed consistent around 13 or so at WOT. I'm not sure how this intake would run on a stock set up, but it should be fine. You MUST reset your ECU just disconnect your battery cable if you are stock, and reflash if you have a flash pro.A note on cold air intakes: I'm know all of the debates out there about which is better a "cold air intake" or "short ram intake" The main issues with a cold air intake is hydro lock (water getting sucked up into your motor) and for the short ram intake, it's heat soak (the filter and pipe becoming so hot that it's loosing power from drawing in warm air from being in the engine bay). Well, I've had both. I actually did suck water into my RSX when I had a cold air intake, so I will never get one again (unless you have an excellent bypass valve) When I changed the oil later that day, a bunch of water came out! the 5hp more you will get with a cold air intake over a short ram intake is not worth the risk, and it's not easy to clean the filter which will get constantly blasted with road grit and water.I looked at the intake air temps before and after this install. On a 50 degree day the stock intake's air temps were around 70*f or so, and with this intake it was around 78*f while moving. I'm sure that will be much higher in the summer, but for now it's really not bad. Once you get moving around 20 mph or more, the temps drop significantly.

Easy to install with separate instructions
PROS:Easy to install and it makes a very satisfying hiss when above 3700k RPM. It's legal in California and comes with the sticker to prove it.CONS:The installation instructions SUCK. They have no pictures and you really need them for something like this. Luckily there is a video made by some guys installing it on a 2008 civic si (I have the coupe) and it really helped a lot but even the video has flaws.Other:I really recommend organizing the boxes contents so you know exactly what you have. It would have saved me a lot of time since we didn't know it came with an adapter to make it fit so we took it off thinking I had to return it then we realized it fit with the adapter but then we lost the nut to tighten it in so we had to go to Dale Hardware to get another, then I ended up losing the washer so I had to take one from a toilet repair kit in my garage(this might come back to bite me).The hoses that come with the intake are stiff and long. We had to cut them to get them to fit right so make sure you measure it right because you only get one shot at it
