Professional grade
Nice professional grade scriber. Marks aluminum sheets easily and good for removing o-rings. It's a full steel shank with aluminum handle, much better than the thread on style.

Great for lots of things....
This scribe is terrific. The shaft is very hard and does not flex like some others do. I have used a scribed identical to this for about 30+ years. I use it to align screw holes between sheets of metal, poke holes in foam and drywall, remove o-rings, working on carbs, stirred hobby paint, mixed small amounts of epoxy and even scribe with it on ocassion. Still have my original one but wanted another just cuz. Best single tool I own.

Quality tool
Very well made. Very sharp and versatile tool. Comes in handy for many different tasks. No tool box should be without one. The only reason I purchased was because I lost my first one that I had for almost 30 years.

An inexpensive way to increase the precision of your work
A great, cheap tool. I am using this pretty much exclusively to scribe marks on metal (aluminum, steel) before cutting. If you care about making accurate cuts, you need to make accurate measurements and then mark them correctly - there is no substitute for a scribe.I have used both ends to scribe lines - no problem in either aluminum or (carbon) steel to this point. As should be expected, the line scribed in steel is shallower - I color the surface with a Sharpie and then scribe - the scribed line really stands out from the Sharpie background.
