This remote works great, after reading the reviews I went to the ...
Another update: I received the replacement three weeks ago and have been using this one with no problems. I contacted the vendor after hurricane Matthew, and they immediately sent me an email with instructions to mail it back. I sent it out to them and waited. After 6 weeks I contacted them looking for a status and they had not received it, I was told when they receive it they will send it out right away. Well I thought it must be the postal service and of course I couldn't find the receipt so I figured I was outta luck. Then three weeks ago out of the blue there is the replacement remote in the mail. I have used it ever since and it has rained and the remote made it through it. I guess its just not hurricane proof. 5 Stars to the vendor who sold this as they were true to their word!!!An update: The controller was unable to stand up to hurricane Matthew and the wind swept rain. Rain water was able to penetrate the keypad (the cover was closed all the way) and now the controller does not work. I removed the battery and let some water come out and I tried blowing it out with some air, but the controller no longer works. It's disappointing that this happened and for this reason I dropped the rating down. This remote works great, after reading the reviews I went to the company website to see if this was compatible with my LD050 garage door opener. I did end up having to call the company because navigating the website to see the compatibility with my system did not show my system listed. After all this I also noticed that it was answered (compatible) in the FAQ's on the Amazon page so I should of looked there. Anyway installation was a breeze and compared to other keypads I have had in the past this one appears to be better built. You don't have to press the buttons hard like I have had to do with other keypad remotes. The only item I don't like is you still have to punch in the code when closing (if after 30 seconds) the door. I am used to other keypads using the code only for opening. For me only a minor issue and I won't have problems getting used to that.

Excellent for the kids after school... no more lost keys!
First, be sure that you have a Linear garage door opener and that it can use this keypad. Easy to do on the manufacturer's website and it appears that this remote keypad will work for most of their openers. But, it's not "universal" across brands, so spend 5 minutes and check. At my previous address, I had a keypad so the children could enter the house through the garage if they arrived home from school before me. At my new place, I gave them keys, which they promptly lost or misplaced, reminding me why I had ordered a keypad before. A quick check of my garage door opener and the manufacturer's website verified this was the keypad I needed. The price here on Amazon was the best around and the shipping was quick even without paying for expedited shipping. One thing I really liked was that I could let each of the kids come up with their own PIN code (4-6 numbers) as the keypad will store up to 10 different PIN codes to open the garage door. Programming the code involved pressing the "program" button on the opener, typing the code on the keypad and pushing the "open" button on the keypad. It took maybe 10-15 seconds for each PIN.Installing the keypad was just as easy. I would recommend using either a drill or a nail for making two pilot holes for the two screws that hold the keypad in place. I used a nail with a smaller diameter than the screws and a regular old phillips screw driver (my drill batteries weren't charged). Total time to program and install was maybe 5 minutes. The keypad comes with the hardware (including anchors if for some reason you aren't installing into a stud). Finally, if you are trying to gain entry at night, the keypad lights up with backlit keys as soon as you press the first button... I normally press the big "open" button at the bottom to light them up, then put in my code, then press "open" again. Simple, easy, works well and seems to be amply solid plastic.

Good Keypad for the Money
The casing is a little flimsy, but I didn't expect much for the price. The keypad cover doesn't seal properly sometimes. The only real complaint is that with other keypads, I've had the ability to punch in my code to open the door and then hit enter to shut the door. With this keypad, you have to enter the code twice. It's a few more keystrokes, so I'm not put off and believe this is a good product. One item to watch for is that the battery rattles around a little and the wires are somewhat exposed. I taped the wires to protect from exposure to moisture buildup and rolled up a little tape and set it between the bottom of the battery and the plastic bezel to ensure a tight fit.

Quick Shipment & Easy Install
Received the part in under the quoted time. I was impressed that the battery was already installed. Had to press the learn button on my Linear Remote as I did not have two separate buttons. Followed the instructions to program the keypad. When I did this my Keypad worked fine, but my car's built in garage door opener stopped working. To fix, follow the steps in the car manual to clear the built car garage door opener memory. Then follow the car manuals instructions to reprogram the built in remote. The down side is that you must have an original linear remote. I keep mine in a drawer. The nice thing about it was, it was less then 1/2 the price of anything I could buy locally.Works just fine if you are capable of a little Do It Yourself. If you do not have an original linear remote buy on, or call a garage door company. If you call a garage door company get a quote first and tell them what is wrong !

good basic conrrol pad
I bought this when I moved into our new house because it only had a garage door open/close button inside the garage. So I wanted to be able to open and close my garage door without using the button in my car. This unit is a good basic control pad and was easy to program; but I would have liked it better if it could close the garage door by just hitting the Enter button. If you close it within 30 seconds of opening it, you can just press the Enter button. However, if you wait longer than 30 seconds, you have to re-enter the code again to close the door. The other issue is that you really have to press hard on the buttons or it won't necessarily accept your entry and you have to re-enter the entire code again. It was inexpensive, so I gave it 4 stars; otherwise I would have only given it 3 stars.

Super easy to set up
Super easy to set up. I highly recommend not getting a universal opener and getting one made for your specific system.
