Highly recommended for those who have researches or interested about Shia ...
Very detailed informative book that is based on Arabic sources. I was surprised for several time of the much of details written by a non-Qatifi person. Highly recommended for those who have researches or interested about Shia in Saudi Arabia.

I am certainly not disappointed while I am reading it
I am in the process of reading this facinating political/ historical discourse on a very imporant but marginalised minority in the Eastern province of Arabia. There's more to "Saudia" than camels and swords which is how the media often potray the country without taking into account that it's actually composed of different sects which each have a particular history in their respective regions or that the historic narratives that are available only seem to delve into the aftermath of the oil boom from their perspective or the role of the founder of the " royal family " in "unifying" the provinces The" Unifier" Ibn Saud cemented his authority by force with the blessing of the superpowers of that time ( I needn't name who; it's obvious) it seemed crucial that he lay his hands on this agriculturally & culturally rich province to bolster hid fledging kingdom .The official narrative would be that his raids were battles fought to unify the tribes & kingdom, in this book it's the opposite perspective; at least for the people of the Eastern province where their narrative & perspective is touched upon: how the composition of that society with its notables, intellectuals, clergy, merchants played a vital role in the politics of dissent, protest or demands of intregation, equality, and civil rights under a repressive regime to this day in the present. Note it isn't a discourse about Ibn Saud but his name would appear repeatedly throughout for his definite role in annexing the region . It's worth buying , I am certainly not disappointed while I am reading it.
