Good but not great.
Very good Straczynski, not quite his best. Not Babylon 5, but as good as the more famous comic book stories about Superman and Thor. Straczynski writes a lot, so much it is hard to keep up with everything. Before your read this, you might want to try Dream Police.

Will Not Dissappoint
Dynamite comic is quickly becoming the comic nostalgia publisher; Bionic Woman, Lone Ranger, Zorro, Dark Shadows, and many more have found a home at this indy. And while Dynamite's offerings have had both hits and misses, they have managed to snag some of the bigger names in comics today...such as J. Michael Straczynski.JMS's work has encompassed everyone from Superman to Thor in both comics and film and he seldom fails to deliver the goods (his work on Squadron Supreme remains my favorite incarnation of that comic...ever). So it was with great interest that I dove into his take on one of the most iconic properties ever produced...The Twilight Zone. For this initial outing JMS introduces us to a very modern tale of greed, science, and the selfishness of man. Meet Trevor Richmond, an embezzling Wall Street scumbag who lives a life of excess while taking everyone around him for granted. When his illegal investment activities catches the eyes of the Feds, Richmond reaches out to a mysterious organization known as Expedited Services Limited and the scientific solution they offer. It is the chance to have his identity wiped away in both the traditional (new ID, Passport, Back History, etc) and non-traditional (new DNA, fingerprints, bloodtype) ways. What will not change is the man inside. His motivations, his darkness, his outlook will always be there which, for Richmond, promises to be his undoing. With this material in hand JMS captures the best of what made the Twilight Zone such a sensation. The philosophical quandaries, the juxtaposition of the believable and fantastical, the every wish fulfilled with price and a twist, all of those elements are handled as brilliantly in this title as if Rod Serling himself had been the writer. Add to that the well wrought illustrations of Guiu Vilanova and you have something truly special here; a title every bit as good as its source inspiration in a new format that exceeds the source. It is a triple-threat...a title for fans of comics, for fans of sci-fi, and fans of the Twilight Zone. Also worth noting is the fact that the next story arc in the series is setup quite neatly in this issue. What appears at first to be a background story are really breadcrumbs that will lead the reader directly to the next arc. It is a wonderful device and is so sure-footed in its execution that I will be sure to read the next installation as quickly as possible.

A very good start of the series
Amazing tale by one of the best comic writers ever! Although I liked the Twilight Zone television series, I began reading this TPB with low expectations, but found my self completely absorbed in this intriguing story of JM Straczynski. The art by Guiu Vilanova is also wonderful. Highly recommended.

Graphical Twilight Zone Doesn't Fail To Impress
I've always loved the original Twilight Zone series. It's unusualness, weirdness and how people react to extreme circumstances. This graphic novel doesn't fail to impress. It follows the ethos of the Twilight Zone. It's well drawn and scripted at a good pace. Overall story is unique and delivered in a pleasing panel layout. Highly recommended (from someone who has watched/read and listened to pretty much everything Twilight Zone)
