FINALLY, A GOOD GLUE DISPENSER
I have spent (read that: WASTED) a lot of money on adhesive applicators that have disappointed me once they arrived. While they appeared to be ideal in their photos and descriptions, in reality they have all had flaws in design, practical application or overall quality which made them undesirable to use. These shortcomings would be much easier to ascertain if viewed on a shelf rather than online, but I don't feel like driving that far to shop. So, when I saw the Lamello Minicol Glue Bottle on Amazon, I decided I would try one last time to purchase a descent product. FINALLY! The Lamello Minicol is a very well designed and quality product, worth every penny! It's pretty obvious this is a product built to last a lifetime. Please note the Lamello Minicol Glue Bottle is NOT for use with polyurethane or any other adhesive that reacts with moisture. It is, however, perfect for adhesives such as Titebond I, II or III. I use Titebond II for the most part, but if I find myself using more of one of the others than I currently do, I will be ordering another Lamello Minicol for that glue as well. Now I can put all the other junk I've collected in a garage sale or the trash can and free up the cabinet space for something useful.

Expensive but well worth it.
Yes, this *seems* a bit expensive for a glue applicator, but its well worth it.The bottle has a flattend stainless-steel metal tip with a hole out each side. This allows one to apply glue to two 90 degree surfaces at once. For example in a slot or long groove, it gets all three faces at once. The base is made from some heavy type of hardwood, with a receptacle that the bottle fits in. The you add water to the receptacle, which keeps the tip moist and so the tip doesn't ever clog with hardened glue. The base, at least mine, is finished with Polyurethane? which makes cleaning any spilled glue a snap.Although the photo looks like the bottl;e is rounded on the bottem, it does have a flat spot and will stand upright for filling, or to just set it down. Its a great product, and I just ordered a second one for my Titebond III!

Save the metal parts of your old one
Save the metal parts of your old one if you're lucky enough to have one.I see Lamello has replaced all the metal except the nozzle with plastic. Sadly the nozzle can become glued into the sleeve and when one pulls out the nozzle, well, you may pull the entire sleeve out. In my over 30 years of owning the older style this has never happened. Once the sleeve has been pulled out you'll have to glue it back or otherwise keep it in its location. What we have here is the usual degraded products that we are all now familiar with, except this one retains the Euro name and price. So, go ahead and get one because they do work very well, just do so with the knowledge that you may have to tweak it.Revising this review after about a year of use. Simply put, the sleeve becomes glued to the nozzle. Unless you're ok with routinely grabbing a pair of pliers and pulling the assembly out, separating the nozzle from the sleeve and gluing it back in yet again don't get this. I will mention that spraying the sleeve with mold release can help if you really want to do that. Lamello should be ashamed for penny-pinching on an already pricey glue bottle, but shame is so 20th Century, no?

a little overrated for the high price you pay
This is a very expensive way to put glue in a biscuit hole. It works fairly well, and saves some mess, but doing it carefully by hand should be considered.

Though pretty, I wonder how it will look in a ...
I have used lamello products for years and they are bar none. I have not, however used this applicator yet (though I'm sure it's excellent) I thought I should mention that the actual product that arrived today was different than the product pictured on the amazon website. The website shows a metal base (intro which you stick the head of the glue bottle). What arrived was a wooden base. Though pretty, I wonder how it will look in a week. Cleaning the inevitable glue off of the finished wood should be easy enough for as long as the finish holds, but after that.... Just saying.

Great Tool
Not cheap, but one of the best biscuit glue bottles you will ever use. the # 175550 has a metal nozzle. This one is to replaced my 30 year old one which was used a lot it had a brass nozzle. You must keep it clean. Treat it like a precision tool and it will last a long time.

Nice metal tip
This seems more expensive than it should be, but it makes quick work of spreading glue in the slots.Nice metal tip. Also the base is a clear finished maple.
