Cool Attic CX1000AMBL Power Roof Galvanized Steel Vent Dome with 3.4 Amp Motor, Black

This fan has been in use for one Spring and early Summer. It's doing just fine. It is reasonably quiet. I did put a patch of ice-n-water shield on the dome. That might have quieted it a smidge when standing right next to it on the roof. INside the house it didn't seem to matter.I can see that it would be easy to damage this fan during shipping as others have mentioned. The box it comes in is less than robust. A GOOD box for this size of item wouldn't be cheap. That's less a product issue than it is a shipping/handling problem.I did use my old thermostat. While the one that came with the fan is probably fine, why bother with taking the old one out and installing a newer (fragile looking) one? The less time spent in a 100º+ attic the better.

This attic fan has been installed for about a week in 95 to 105 degree temps and the difference (before installation) has been noticeable. Additionally, I'm in a split-level home so my upstairs bedroom closet is also access to the attic. Prior to installation, you could feel the heat emitting from the closet but this fan has made things much more comfortable. Also, not nearly as noisy as my contractor warned of.

The fan was not difficult to mount and works well. My attic is much cooler now. I deducted one star because the packaging was very flimsy and it arrived with some damage to the flashing around the base. A mallet and a flat concrete floor was all I required to flatten the bent flashing.

Had this fan for just over a year. Literally, 20 days over a year and motor is making a horrible rattle sound. Need to contact seller for a warranty issue. Says 2 year warranty. This is definelty a motor issue. Please advise how to get a replacement fan. Thank you. Will change review if this issue is resolved.

Installed and running with no issues! This replaced a plastic dome that broke apart after a hail storm.

only lasted one season. now it doesn't work

I replaced one of my roof vents with the attic fan on my 5th wheel trailer, and it works great. I set it on 70 degrees and it automatically turns on when I am gone, and I never have to return to a hot trailer.
